Snap-together building blocks? Those are for cowards. We spit on those. Tough kids use Mini Bricks, monument kits that come with teensy faux-stone textured plastic blocks (1/4” cubes or 1/4” x 1/4” x 1/2", among others), mortar, a mixing tub and a very, very small trowel. The Statue of Liberty has 132 pieces, instructions, and a mounting base. (You don’t build Lady Liberty. She’s in faux-copper, 3” tall; you build the base.) Suitable for kids with small-motor skills and patience. Neatness counts.

Tweezle Dee, Tweezle Dum
These're pleasing tweezers, these are. You pick the approx 6" long bead/pearl tweezers with serrated grips and 3/8" dia cupped jaws to hold small round things. Or the clever cross-lock tweezers, 6" long with wood-grain grips and 1/2" long, serrated 90° jaws that grip tightly. The handy cross-locks will lay flat on their backs to hold stuff, like wires, while you solder.

Sew Easy
"Mend It" is the haberdasherial equivalent of liquid nails: liquid thread. Made to bond virtually any fabric to itself or any other fabric, it repairs holes, rips, seams and tears in everything from canvas to silk to leather, fixes everything from belt loops and burn holes to hems and zippers. Handy for emergency repairs or permanent fixes. Dries clear, flexible and waterproof, machine washable and dry cleanable. You get (4) ounces, which is a lot of repairing.

Fishnets
Not fishnet stockings, but netting for actual fish, direct from the U.S. Army (you'd think Navy, wouldn't you?) in olive drab. It's a survival thing. You get a 10-foot x 5-foot net made of 3/4" squares individually knotted from twisted cotton/nylon, so the net won't unravel if torn. Might have a slightly musty aroma (but definitely not fishy) that a little sunshine time will fix. Great for maritime-theme decoration, bible-camp plays (filled until breaking, walking-on-water background prop…) or, we suppose, fishing. And perfect if you want to go to a costume party as Poseidon.

Skinny Zip-Ties
More subtle than regular white zip-ties, these dark green ties were made to blend in with floral leaves and stems, but are unobtrusive wherever you use them. And the (75) pieces, all 3/32" wide, give you (35) 3-3/4" long, (20) 5-1/2" long, and (20) 8" long ties. Handy to have around.

Almost ten feet of snake, but only 3/16" dia, this is the really skinny snake that shimmies down your sink or shower drain and cleans out the schmutz that's clogging it up. Has an offset handle to help it shimmy and a loosely coiled end to help with the unclogging. From Illinois Industrial Tools.
