Shrink Plastic
Incredible stuff!! And even better than those dinky cutouts you used to make! Our each is a pack of (8) 8" x 10-1/2" shrinking plastic sheets that start clear and stay clear. Draw a design, write a message, create a sign, whatever. Cut it out, bake it in a 350° oven for about 3 minutes, and it shrinks to 45% of its original size. Problem with certain pencils and markers on the slick sheets? Try a light sanding (320-400 grit) before writing on it. (The surface will be more opaque.) What a fun way to make small errors become insignificant!

Linoleum blocks for linocuts. It's printmaking made easy, and the method used by the best: Matisse, Picasso, you…that whole crowd. All of these blocks are faced with 1/8" thick gray linoleum. The thick one is 4" x 3" on a 3/4" hunk of particle board. The thin one is 5" x 4" on 1/8" Masonite®. Don't forget the hobby knives from our website.

A Working Wonder
If we had a category just for customers who lust after Jules Verne inventions and elegant gadgetry, this would be in it. The wonderful brass sundial, a reproduction of an antique, is approx 3" dia x 11/16" thick overall, and actually works! A latitudinal gauge lets you tilt the engraved dial to the correct angle for your location, and a bubble and three leveling feet allow the 1-1/2" dia lock-down compass to point in the precise direction. And if you never took it out into the sunshine, you'd still love it for the look and logic of it.

Wernerite and fossil algae. All are very interesting, and a few colors really pop under ordinary blacklight -- but we have to admit that today's fluorescent paints and laser shows have spoiled us for the more subtle glow of a rock. Our little LED flashlight runs on an included "AAA" battery and has a 4-5/8" long gooseneck attached to a 3-3/4" x 9/16" dia body so you can see inside crannies and nooklets. Remove the paper spacer on top of the battery before you curse us because it won't go on.

And we did it ourselves with this little mat cutter and self-healing cutting mat. The dual-blade mat cutter has a comfy rubber handle and a removable bevel for clean 45° cuts. The blade adjusts to 9/16" deep and is 4-1/2" long OA, and replacement blades are standard stock in art supply stores. The hard rubber cutting mat is self-healing and no, we don't know how it does that. It's 11-3/4" x 8-3/4" x 1/8" thick, marked with 1/8" and 5mm increments and 1/2" squares, and lines for 45° and 60° cuts.
