Hemostatic Heaven
Hemostats are the clamplike devices dangling from veins and arteries in melodramatic operating scenes. Our particular collection are Pakistani surgical-grade instruments made of magnetic stainless steel. As such we rate them pretty good, but not fantastic. Hemostats look like little pliers. The jaws are relatively fine, with rounded tips. The inside faces are lightly serrated to get a grip on tubing or body plumbing. And the handles are much longer than the jaws. Now the heavenly part. Great hobby clamps that can be worked into small areas. Fine heat sinks for electronics. Good hook extractors for trout fisherpeople. Excellent tubing clamps for flow-sensitive chemistry experiments. Sizes are approximate length.

Good Tweezers
This set of (6) tweezers is as useful as it looks daunting. The (6) stainless steel tweezers vary in size from 4-1/2" up to 7". Two of the tweezers have serated tips one is inverse, one has a slide latch and the others are straight flat tip. The set comes in a clear front plastic carrying case. Good for model cars, planes or hard to reach splinters.

Tweezers Of The Gods
Almost big enough to pick up mortals: 10" long, 15/16" wide, with a mouth that rests open at 1-3/16". Stainless steel, non-magnetic tip, with a smooth, ungrooved tip that's .046" wide. Good for giant splinters, crafts, jewelry, electronics, or sushi.

We made up the name. These plastic tweezers have lightly serrated open loops in a teardrop shape, 9/16" x 3/8", on the grabbing end. Might be tissue tweezers for a lab, but we like them for gripping beads, eggs (to color), electronic parts, sushi, eyeballs, escargot, olives and immobilizing gerbil's heads to get their attention. Normally 1", the jaws can be opened much wider. Measure 4-7/8" long. Plenty cheap.

When In Doubt, Tweeze It Out
Tweeze: the opposite of squeeze. Pick these 3-1/2" long stainless-steel tweezers with 1/4" wide, slightly flared jaws and a tight bite. Good for splinters, eyebrows, artists, crafters, jewelry makers, archeologists, mosaicists and very light eaters.
