Do Not (Fill In The Blank)

We know there's a message in this 12" dia safety sign with the classic slashed circle. It's red and white on reflective, adhesive-backed vinyl, and the graphics mean "Do not put out fire with liquids." Given its limited application, we're more excited about cutting out the white sections and putting the red circle/slash over a photo of our least favorite politician. But hey, if you're on the safety committee, knock your socks off. Just make sure the sign isn't hung upside down. Then it says "Do not let fire rain into your coffee."

Egg McChameleon

Warning!  WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

Another gem plucked from the A.S.&S. mirabilia. The shape and size of a hen egg, this opaque stone (or matte-finished glass - we're not sure which) is interesting in itself. Touched with a red penlight in a dark room, the entire egg becomes a brilliant ruby color. Blue light/blue egg, etc. Fun and fascinating, and with a little sleight of hand, a sure way to convince the plebeians that you have some mysterious metaphysical power.

Tools, Spools, Whatever

It's a weird-looking, never-used, military-surplus tool bag. The 11-1/4" long x 6" dia green-canvas bag has a leather handle on the closed end, and a leather strap that tightens around and closes the open end, leaving an orifice on one side. Our best guess: It holds a spool of wire or cable for easy unwinding. (Second best: If your army rides on ponies, it's a potential feedbag.) As with much military surplus, a few hours in the sun will improve it.
