Needle File Set
Miniature 5–1/2" steel needle files. They come in the usual assortment of flat, wedge, triangular, and round shapes, (10) in all. They seem to be pretty uniformly fine with none that we would call coarse. Made in China, they come in a vinyl carrying case that snaps shut. Not as classy as some of the sets we have seen in the $12.00 range, but perfectly serviceable for most applications. And at a third the price.

Diamond point bits that, if used by your dentist would send you through the roof. The assortment of bits includes cylinders, cones (points), balls and a couple of special shapes all in a variety of sizes. In the set of (20), each has 3/32" dia. shank and is about 2-3/4" long OA. In the set of (10), each has a 1/8" dia. shank and is about 1-3/4" long OA, with larger size bit heads. Both come in plastic cases. A craftsperson's delight!!

SURPRISE!!
Mystery Boxes of stuff like what you see in the catalog. Maybe we had a little left but not enough to continue the listing. Maybe we only got a few as part of an odd lot. Maybe we just lost some, and just found them in our warehouse. You will get items which originally listed for at least $25.00 total in our catalog (or would have, if we had enough). You pick. The "electro-mechanical" box has things like motors, switches, hardware and components that are useful parts but want to be worked into something bigger. The "consumer" box has more ready-to-go type items, and things that don't have as technical a flavor, like bottles, toys, books and giant rubber bands. The fun is in the mystery and surprise. Perfect if you don't know what to give Aunt Maude and Uncle Ned, or if you can't decide how to bring your order up to the minimum. Every couple of months the contents will keep changing, so even if you have gotten a box before, feel free to order again! (Please note: Ordering multiple boxes at the same time will result in duplicate items.)

Hemostatic Heaven
Hemostats are the clamplike devices dangling from veins and arteries in melodramatic operating scenes. Our particular collection are Pakistani surgical-grade instruments made of magnetic stainless steel. As such we rate them pretty good, but not fantastic. Hemostats look like little pliers. The jaws are relatively fine, with rounded tips. The inside faces are lightly serrated to get a grip on tubing or body plumbing. And the handles are much longer than the jaws. Now the heavenly part. Great hobby clamps that can be worked into small areas. Fine heat sinks for electronics. Good hook extractors for trout fisherpeople. Excellent tubing clamps for flow-sensitive chemistry experiments. Sizes are approximate length.

Adapting to AC-Surplus Transformations
There is an entire class of transformers that surplus dealers call "AC Adapters." What we really mean is transformers that plug directly into the wall (primary voltage 110 VAC), and via a cord and/or plug provide various levels of output current at variou s voltages. It is a rare buyer of surplus that gets the plug configuration he/she wants, and many get snipped off (plugs that is). They are handy power supplies, battery charging units, substitutes for batteries in toys and games, or for providing safe il lumination to models and displays. Be sure to note whether the output is AC or DC (Direct Current, like a battery) and whether it can provide enough current for your application. Unless otherwise noted, all are suitable for indoor use only. Stick with us and you'll get the hang of adapting to AC...and at much lower prices than your friendly appliance/game/computer/calculator shop asks. Unless otherwise noted, all adapters are for 115 volt AC primaries, and all have about 6 ft. cords. (MA=Milliamp) (A=Ampere) (VDC= Volts DC) (VAC= Volts AC).

Zillions of little bottles. Renegades from a pharmaceutical company, leftover unfilled from runs of exotic we-know-not-what. We have divided them into three basic shapes: A, Narrow Mouth, h (Narr Mo) have a 10mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 13mm dia. 3mm rim and a 7mm dia. opening; B, Wide Mouth, (Wide Mo) have a 16mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 19mm dia. x 3mm rim and a 12 or 13mm dia opening; C, Sloped Shoulder, (Sl Sh) have roughly 5-6mm long neck that tapers from the soft shoulder to 15mm dia, with a 19mm dia x 3mm rim and a 12-13mm dia. opening. Height refers to height overall, and dia. to the body dia. in the table below. Great items for the doll house (for kids old enough not to swallow them), to hold tiny wild flowers, for decorative art work, individual cruets, or just to hold and marvel at. All quite sturdy glass. In the real world, you would pay from $75 (smallest) to $225 (biggest) for 288 of these, which is the smallest quantity you could get!! Narrow mouth bottles take a #00 cork. Diskette Cases
Individual cases for 3–1/2” computer discs. The nice thing about these is that they are stiff enough to protect the disc but just flexible enough not to be brittle and break the way most “jewel” cases do. Suit Your Soil
Grow a beautiful garden full of plants that love your soil! It's easy if you know your soil's pH, and we have a gauge to help you! Stick the probe into moist soil for the pH to register in a separate 4" x 2" x 1" gauge box on the end of a 26 ft. cord. That let's you keep the probe in the garden while reading the gauge at your doorstep! A needle indicates the pH on a scale of 3.5-9, and you get a list of which plants like which pH levels.

Lab Stand
Affordable, adaptable lab equipment for serious scientists with laughable budgets. The basic stand is heavy black metal 8" long x 5" wide x 1" high with a 19-1/2" x 3/8" dia support rod screwed into it. Position a beaker or bunsen burner on the stand and build the configuration you need above it. Both of the Burette clamps and the ring attach to the rod with thumbscrew clamps. The Burette clamps have wing nuts so they can be adjusted to any angle. The single clamp extends 4" from the rod, with rounded, uncoated, adjustable metal jaws with spring tension and a wing nut. The double clamp like it has rubber-coated jaws. The 3" metal support ring holds the 6" x 6" heavy-gauge steel-mesh burner screen with crimped edges. Nice, solid equipment at a rare price.
