Display LCD
Small-about the size of the LCD on a ladies' digital watch, 5/16" x 9/16" and 1/16" thick. Shows 1/4" tall numbers from 0-1999, the foremost display being a little dumber than the others and unable to count past one. Uses 9-12 VDC. Actual hook-up not known.

We Don't Know
We don't know much about this LCD display. Don't know where it came from, don't know many specs. We do know, however, that the display will handle both letters and numbers. And that it has a mirrored back, and measures 2-3/4" x 13/16" x 1/16" thick. And it's got that cool mood-ring-esque effect when you push on it. And if you know what to do with it, we know you're getting a great deal!

LEDs By The Dozen
Light emitting diodes. Solid state devices that provide the ubiquitous power and indicator lights on your electronic gadgetry. Unlike lamps, there are no filaments that glow. Rather, some two volts of DC power at a miniscule 10 to 20 milliamps of current get the chemistry excited, and they just plain emit. Emit is a good word, too, as they don't really cast light, but glow brightly. We have a nice assortment of 3 and 5 MM diameter sizes in red, green, orange, and yellow. The longer lead is always positive, the shorter always negative, and you always need a current limiting resistor (about 500 to 1,000 ohms for 5 to 9 volt DC sources) to keep the current in the 10-20 MA range. If that's Greek to you you're either going to blow a lot of LED's or learn to change incandescent indicator lamps ! !

CD player digital displays in perfect condition. Each can show hours/minutes/ seconds, track, and index numbers, and can also indicate right/left speaker volumes, cassette functions, and (20) other words/states. Once you sort out the functions of the (34) 5/8" leads (the Japanese manufacturer might be of help here,) you could use these to replace broken displays or relabel them for use with whatever machine you're piecing together. They are particularly good components for tinkering because the leads are long and easily accessible. The panel is 2" x 4-1/2".

Then order one, we plead! They're 9-1/2" long and made from aluminum-(7) strands of 22 gauge wire twisted into a 5/32" thickness, that should satisfy your greed. And each has a 3/16" solderless ring terminal connector on both ends, so they can be hooked up with all speed. Unbelievable things, incredible prices, that's our creed!

Electric Motor and Magnet Kits

You're Grounded
Which is far better than being shocked. Tinned, braided copper grounding strap in 1/2" , and 3/4" widths. If you're already well grounded, you might think of other things to do with a length of stuff that's like those woven straw finger traps but made of fine strands of wire.

A Snarl of Magnet Wire
One of those sharpie East Coast outfits pulled a fast one on this poor naive Midwestern dealer. The result is we have a pile of exotic coated copper magnet wire. The coatings and colors vary widely, as does the gauge of the wire. With a couple of exceptions there isn't enough of any one kind among the hundreds in the pile to list separately. So we are offering an assortment and you get whatever we grab. Either way you will get a terrific value, particularly if you have an exotic application and get just what you need. Even if you are just making a garden variety coil or electromagnet you will still find the prices are very good. So go ahead, profit from our misfortune. We are glad to be of service. Sigh.

LED Displays
A big grab bag of LED display tiles. Assorted colors - red, green, amber - and displays. Small are 1" x 2" and smaller; 3-9 volts; and include seven-segment numeric, dot matrix, and alphanumeric. Sorry, we can't tell you what size or display you'll get, but Small has at least (4) different. Think of it as a surprise present from Uncle Barry. Hook 'em up and find out what he gave you!

Needle File Set
Miniature 5–1/2" steel needle files. They come in the usual assortment of flat, wedge, triangular, and round shapes, (10) in all. They seem to be pretty uniformly fine with none that we would call coarse. Made in China, they come in a vinyl carrying case that snaps shut. Not as classy as some of the sets we have seen in the $18.00 range, but perfectly serviceable for most applications. And at a third the price.
