Cool Tool
Winner of this week's "What IS That?" award. It's a watch crab, also called a spanner wrench, that's designed to remove the back from watches, lenses from telescopes, and other thin, flat components from whatever they're attached to. Heavy for its size, it's 1" x 2-3/4" x 3/8" thick, with sharp 1/4" prongs projecting from the edge. The prongs move from 2" to 7/16" apart as you spin the furled nut between them. An impressive tool to flash in front of your brother-in-law. If he doesn't read our catalog, he won't have a clue!

Touch both of the metal strips on the weighted bottom, however, and a circuit closes, making the ball flash red and moan eerie electronic sounds. Portable Oscilloscope
The Velleman HPS10 Personal Scope isn't some graphical multimeter -- it's the complete, portable, affordable oscilloscope you've been waiting for! Gadgeteers, get out your charge card. This is an instrument you absolutely have to own. It reaches down below sofa cushions, inside piggy banks, into fish tanks, and past a gallbladder. Not simultaneously, of course. The slim stainless steel alligator forceps is 11" long OA, with a 2-1/2" angled handle and an 8-1/2" reach. It has small 5/8" long serrated jaws, delicate but tight, at the very tip! Better buy an extra. We guarantee people are going to "borrow" these if they see them.

Accent Lighting
So that your wheat can see where it's growing. OK, they're really for all those teeny-light needs: dollhouses, models, robots, train sets, like that. This set was made to be a repair kit for Aura Grain of Wheat rope lights, and you can still use it for that, but you'll get an 18" length of 3/8" dia clear or colored rope with (18) white lights inside, plus (2) 1-3/4" pieces of clear shrink-wrap tube, and (2) 2-pin splice connectors. The 18" length operates at 120VAC & draws approx. 9 watts. Use it as is or slice the tube and remove the 6 volt GOW lights.

Lay Siege To The Doghouse!

Right after you build your own working medieval catapult or trebuchet. All you'll need is glue, scissors and a steady hand (plus a small bag of marbles or rocks or something as a counterweight for the trebuchet) to construct these wooden, Canadian-made siege engine kits. The catapult stands 6" tall x 5" wide x 10" long and will toss assorted stuff 15 feet or farther, depending upon the stuff. The finished trebuchet will be 26" long x 18" wide x 24" tall and will propel small objects (meatballs?) 20 feet or more. Both include detailed instructions. Note: Please don't propel small mammals, and please don't put anyone's eye out.
