Little Glass Ampules
Terrific little glass bottles with looooong necks, in the shape called "Ampules". About half the total height is a standard cylindrical shape, at the top of this there is shoulder and above that, is an elongated tulip shaped neck. All are clear. They may have either a blue, gold or ground band on or below the "bulb" of the tulip. Bud vases for a single forgetmenot, decorative holders for colored sand or water, delicate vials for perfumes and essences, whatever the use, you just won't find them in stores. Needle File Set
Miniature 5–1/2" steel needle files. They come in the usual assortment of flat, wedge, triangular, and round shapes, (10) in all. They seem to be pretty uniformly fine with none that we would call coarse. Made in China, they come in a vinyl carrying case that snaps shut. Not as classy as some of the sets we have seen in the $12.00 range, but perfectly serviceable for most applications. And at a third the price.

Mashers and Smashers
Porcelain mortars and pestles. Great heavy duty mortars, with sides that are easily 5/16" thick on the smaller ones, and up to 1/2" on the larger. The mortars are glazed outside, but rough inside, the better to grind, and have a pouring lip. The business ends of the pestles are unglazed, while the shafts are glazed. Very functional, very good looking!! So grind your own spices or lab concoctions as you prefer. You get a mortar and pestle as a single order.

LCDs
These liquid crystal displays are raring to go. As soon as we can get Mary Ann to stop playing with them we'll pick out (5) assorted displays for you. (She keeps zapping them with static electricity to see what pops up. Mary Ann is easily amused.) Sizes range from 1-3/16" x 2" to a few as large as 5" x 10". They're unused. Some have pin leads, some have traces right on the wafer. Either way, they're a terrific bargain.

as they go past, with a classic chrome palm counter. 1-3/4" dia x 1-3/16" thick, our mechanical 4-digit counter has a thumb plunger and ring to fit around a finger so you don't drop it, you klutz. The numbers are 3/16" tall, and there's a rotary reset for when you have to start over.

Masks, Gas, Russian
Assembled in the U.S. from Russian parts, anyway. What we have here is a gas mask for children, although frankly, the smallest of them are really more Yorkshire-terrier sized. New, but surplus, and while they're rated NBC for nuclear/biological/chemical contaminants, they carry absolutely no guarantees. These are to be used as part of a collection, or for costume/novelty purposes. These adult masks come with an integrated, screw-on filter canister, carrying pouch, and (6) plastic eye-lens covers. The medium ones are for adults with a facial circumference (measure around the crown of the head and under the chin) between 25” and 25-3/4”.

Forget watchmaking, you could write the "A Tale of Two Cities" on a piece of tortellini with this triple magnifier visor. Magnifies from 1.8X to 4.8X. Has a permanent 2.2X lens, a flip-down lens, and a flip-down loupe. Separate white LEDs at each temple, powered by (2) "AAA"s each which aren't included. Combo-Scope
The manufacturer of this great little device, C&A Scientific Company Inc., calls this a Spy Scope, but we think its multiple optical applications in one very small package are the story here. The very cool 8 X 20 spotting scope has an adjustable focal length from 1" to infinity. It measures a mere 4-7/8" long when extended, with a rubber grip and eyepiece cover and wrist strap. And it comes with a 3-1/4" tall 5X loupe that's threaded to mate with the scope to create a 25X microscope. The plastic microscope stand/extender is also threaded and will come apart from the loupe. Comes with a black nylon belt pouch for the spotting scope. Can you say "multi-task?"
