Mylar Warmth
They have the look of something designed for the space program. They're mylar, a paper-thin shiny metallic sheet, that comes in handy when your car breaks down in winter, or when you're separated from your climbing group on the slopes of Mt. McKinley. Barring that, they're also a perfect material for a do-it-yourself cold-climate Halloween costume-near impossible to rip by hand, but cut easily with scissors. There's no padding, so they wouldn't be too comfy on your bed, but they sure are warm. They both come folded about the size of a wallet. The Blanket is 52" x 82", the Sleeping Bag is 34" x 84".

Sleeping Pad
Campers put these pads under their sleeping bags to insulate themselves thermally and ergonomically from the hard cruel ground. They call them "Insulite" which sounds like a brand name and they are military grade. We don't know if the items we have are seconds from that company or somewhere else, but we can't tell the difference. They are at least 20" x 60" and are 3/8" thick dense foam rubber. We have light blue, dark blue khaki/green and mauve/purple, from which we shall pick your purchase. One side is glossy with more closed pores than the other. We have used them, and they are great! Feather light too at only 20 oz. Good as light duty tumbling or exercise mats as well.

Peltier Heat Pump
High tech comes to Am Sci & Surp!! It is here in the form of a Peltier junction, a thermo-electric device that translates electric power into heat, and perversely, into cool. Apply current @ 3-12 VDC to the gizmo and it extracts thermal energy from one face, thereby cooling it. The heat is dumped onto the other face, thereby heating it. Please note: you must use a heat sink on the hot side or the junction will fry itself, since it can quickly create a 65° C temperature differential in a no load situation. Stack two, or build a cascade to increase the thermal differential created. Or run it backwards. Apply heat or cold to the relevant face and produce a current. Amazing for science projects and experiments. Practical for coffee warmers, beer coolers and mini-refrigerator or warming oven applications. Comes with instructions. Large is 1-9/16" sq. x 3/16" thick.

Bag Your Scooter
This 22" x 7" x 4" thick zippered carrying bag is made to hold a small folding scooter, although it could just as easily carry camping equipment, sports paraphernalia, or tools. The body of the bag is clear vinyl, the binding and adjustable woven handles are purple. It has a 7" x 6" x 3" zippered exterior pocket (with another pocket inside it!) and it folds and zips into itself for easy storage while scooting.

Safe Storage
It just ain't gonna spill the beads. Or the fishhooks, or screws, or whatever you're storing in the 7-1/2" x 5" x 1-1/2" deep Store-in-It box. The translucent-plastic box with (1) 3-1/2" x 1-1/4" and (10) 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" compartments has a hinged lid that not only snaps shut, it has an extra little security latch. Buncha Trays 'N' Lids
These are left over from those scrumptious hot meals that hospitals serve. Use the trays and lids when you're under the weather, or serving someone who is. Mix and match them, but carefully, since the round lids fit some bottoms better than others-and the 8" square x 2-7/8" deep lid don't fit nothin' we've got. On the other hand, we think the trays also make perfect indestructible flower pot saucers, and the lids, which have recessed handles so they can sit on their heads (which is more than you can do), would make nice wide planters themselves. Some of them say they can take heat and some say they can't but we're pretty sure they're talking about hospital ovens because they all do just fine warming up tortillas in the office microwave. Assorted unmatched colors (our choice).

21st Century Walking Stick
Walking sticks have moved into the space age! This walker's/hiker's friend has futuristic features and the look of an inter-galactic weapon. The high-quality collapsible aluminum stick extends from a packable 27" to a full 56", and has a carbide tip with a rubber cover, a removable 2" dia disk to keep the stick from sinking into soft ground, and an internal shock absorber that can be turned on or off. At the top, a 5-LED flashlight with a 90° pivot is embedded in a molded-plastic cane-style handle to light your way. Painter's Handle
Almost a handy handle for those 4" long mini-rollers designed for painting behind radiators or inside cabinets or other close-quarter spots. Except that it's missing the cylinder needed to hold most rollers on the 1/4" dia rod. But we think you'll find a way around that. Measures 22" long, and its red plastic handle has a threaded 11/16" bore at the bottom to take an extension pole. Would also function nicely as a snake-handling device, or, we suppose, for painting snakes with, but they hate that.
