A Working Wonder
If we had a category just for customers who lust after Jules Verne inventions and elegant gadgetry, this would be in it. The wonderful brass sundial, a reproduction of an antique, is approx 3" dia x 11/16" thick overall, and actually works! A latitudinal gauge lets you tilt the engraved dial to the correct angle for your location, and a bubble and three leveling feet allow the 1-1/2" dia lock-down compass to point in the precise direction. And if you never took it out into the sunshine, you'd still love it for the look and logic of it.

By Head Or By Handlebar
This clever little bicycle or head lamp has (9) bright white LEDs flanked by a pair of red LEDs. Set it for one of (3) modes: single white LED; all (9); or just the (2) red flashers. Has a handlebar mount and an adjustable elastic head strap, and swivels up/down and left/right in either. The light measures 2-5/8" x 2-7/8" on a 1-3/4" x 1-5/8" bracket and we'll include (3) "AAA" batteries. It runs about 24 hours on a set of alkaline batteries. Snazzy Little Notebooks
With ballpoint pens. The covers are approx 4" square x 1/2" thick in metallic leatherette vinyl with snap closures. Inside is a 4" black-ink pen in a keeper, a 64-sheet pad of white notepaper, and a small sleeve to hold finished notes or business cards. So snazzy that they're pre-priced at $6.50. The Monback Machine
Call it the Monback Machine, an electronic version of the guy directing you while you back in: "Monback, monback, monback, STOP!" You mount the 7-7/8" x 7/8" x 1-1/8" infrared-based back-up sensor near your rear license plate (or on it) and wire it to the reverse lights. A 1" black speaker with 10-foot leads mounts inside the car and beeps as you back up, getting faster and higher pitched as you approach objects. You adjust the triggering distance to a maximum of approx 3 feet. Includes mounting hardware and detailed instructions.

Beauteous Brass Sextant
Sextants came along after astrolabes but before GPS. (Just like you.) They're used for finding latitude and the distance between objects, and are still the non-electric, non-satellite-dependent back-up for navigators. Ours is a beauty in solid brass with glass optical components, at a tiny price. Measures approx 4-5/8" x 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" OA and comes in a very nice wooden case. Includes instructions for use, which you're going to need unless you went to Annapolis where they still teach it because computers can still go all kaflooey. (Note that well before computers started going kaflooey, compasses and sextants lost an adventurer here and there, too, so don't call us if you and the sextant set out for Madagascar and end up in Iceland.) Sorry, due to overwhelming popularity we are sold out of the sextants.

Be Safe-Coming And Going
This two-piece bike safety light has a bright headlight, 4-1/2" x 2-3/8" x 1-5/8", and a 3-LED red taillight, 2-5/8" x 1-7/8" x 1-1/8", that will run steady-on, slow flash, or fast flash. Both will slide out of their handlebar mounts: the headlight becomes a mini-flashlight, and the tail light has a belt-clip for jogging visibility. You add (4) "AA" batteries for the front light and (2) for the taillight.

Bollarded Compass
For the nautical gentleman's study. Our stunningly fashionable brass and wood compass has a decorated face set in a mahogany-stained wood surround, with (6) brass mini-bollards set around the perimeter. Outta My Way!
Both of our classic bike accessories are LED-free, battery-free, and happily wireless. The large Bee-brand steel bicycle bell is 2-1/2" dia, clamps onto a tube up to 1" dia, and has a thumb lever to make it go Briiiiiiiiinnnng, Briiiiiiiiiinnnng! Our retro bike horn has two tones (one while squeezing, the other while the bulb inhales). The tone is much more a Clarabellian quack (search the Web for Howdy Doody if you're too young to remember Clarabell) than a deep Harpo Marxian (ditto) honk. Measures 8" long with a 2-3/8" bell and a rubber bulb that will be either red, black, or purple. Includes a removable handlebar mount.

Flash!
This just in. A green double LED flasher with gasketed circuitry so you can mount it in your bike spokes. Also has a slot so it can be threaded on a strap. Two modes, flashing or constant (constant is motion sensitive). It's flat, egg-shaped with side mounting lugs-sort of a beetle with earrings-that's 3-1/8" x 2-3/8". Powered by (2) CR2032 batteries (thoughtfully included). But may need to be replaced.
