Electric Motor and Magnet Kits

A trio of the best science education kits we have seen dealing with electricity, magnetism, motors and generators. The 44 page instruction booklets are educational and complete; state problem, approach and explain what is happening for a series of projects of graded difficulty. The Motor/Generator kit includes several introductory experiments on magnetism as well as six complete motor generator projects. The Electromagnet kit provides experiments including the building of an electromagnet, a doorbell chime, a telegraph, a relay and an electric catapult. The Levitation Set experiments with magnetic fields, gravity, and equilibrium; plus everything you need to build a magnetic levitation train! All are complete except for batteries. Strongly recommended for their quality, the accuracy of their science and the interest they will sustain. Ages 10-18.

Budding lapidarians will lap up this rock polishing kit which is so complete it even contains some rocks. The polishing tumbler has a (3) lb. ((1) qt.) fifteen sided rubber barrel and is driven by a 115 VAC motor. Overall dimensions are 6" x 6" x 7-1/2" high. In addition to the tumbler, the kit includes an assortment of jewelry findings and a detailed manual giving you easy to follow instructions. But don't think of it only as useful for jewelry making. Very Proficiently Flying

Our PC-9 rubber-band powered styro airplane boasts a big, long rubber power plant, plastic prop, and landing gear. Measures 15" nose to tail with an 18" wingspan. Takes some light assembly but, the directions say, "when you play this plane very proficiently, you will find that it can be made more wonderful flying ways." Indeed. Rated for 200 feet of flight (80% longer than the Wright brother's first flight!), but we'd avoid really windy days for the best proficiently flying.

The Codger's First Carving Set
