Magnifying Headband
Perfect for detail, hobby or jewelry work, for examining bugs and rocks and field specimens, even reading. An adjustable headband holds a flip-up visor. On the visor is a battery holde (2) "AAA", not included) and light which can be turned on and off and aimed where needed. Below the visor hangs a pair of magnifying lenses which can be flipped up out of your sight independent of the visor. (4) interchangeable acrylic lens sets are included, 1.2X, 1.8 X, 2.5X and 3.5 X. Quite well made and its patented design is thoroughly adaptable to whatever use.

Another gem plucked from the A.S.&S. mirabilia. The shape and size of a hen egg, this opaque stone (or matte-finished glass - we're not sure which) is interesting in itself. Touched with a red penlight in a dark room, the entire egg becomes a brilliant ruby color. Blue light/blue egg, etc. Fun and fascinating, and with a little sleight of hand, a sure way to convince the plebeians that you have some mysterious metaphysical power.

These liquid crystal displays are raring to go. As soon as we can get Mary Ann to stop playing with them we'll pick out (5) assorted displays for you. (She keeps zapping them with static electricity to see what pops up. Mary Ann is easily amused.) Sizes range from 1-3/16" x 2" to a few as large as 5" x 10". They're unused. Some have pin leads, some have traces right on the wafer. Either way, they're a terrific bargain.

Peltier Heat Pump
High tech comes to Am Sci & Surp!! It is here in the form of a Peltier junction, a thermo-electric device that translates electric power into heat, and perversely, into cool. Apply current @ 3-12 VDC to the gizmo and it extracts thermal energy from one face, thereby cooling it. The heat is dumped onto the other face, thereby heating it. Please note: you must use a heat sink on the hot side or the junction will fry itself, since it can quickly create a 65° C temperature differential in a no load situation. Stack two, or build a cascade to increase the thermal differential created. Or run it backwards. Apply heat or cold to the relevant face and produce a current. Amazing for science projects and experiments. Practical for coffee warmers, beer coolers and mini-refrigerator or warming oven applications. Comes with instructions. Large is 1-9/16" sq. x 3/16" thick.

That's not a foam nose cone, you know!) The 4-1/4" x 1-1/4" dia seltzer rocket that holds water and (1) dissolving seltzer tablet. The rocket that has shot almost 30 feet in the air for us. It comes with (4) antacid tablets, just like those you can buy at the drug store -- and it's basic science at its best!
