Bright Box Of Rocks
Straight from the hand of Nature, and Scott Resources, comes this boxed collection of (15) 1" to 1-1/2" fluorescent mineral specimens, such as hackmanite, turritella agate, aragonite, travertine, willemite, resinous coal, selenite gypsum, fluorite, calcite, scapolite var. Wernerite and fossil algae. All are very interesting, and a few colors really pop under ordinary blacklight -- but we have to admit that today's fluorescent paints and laser shows have spoiled us for the more subtle glow of a rock. Buy these for their educational value, not their dramatic display.

Diamond Hole Saws Are Forever

This 10-piece set of diamond-encrusted core drill bits comes in a wooden presentation case (Hey, they've got diamonds on them!) and includes 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 2", and 2-3/8" dia. Shanks are 1/4" except the (2) largest, which are 3/8", and all the bits are slotted to blow out dust. Each bit is 1-1/4" deep. From Sper Scientific, this pen-type infrared thermometer has a range of -27°F to 428°F with 0.5° resolution, or -33°C to 220°C with 0.2° resolution. Accurate ± 2.5% or 2.5°C, whichever is greater. Pocket-clippable at 6" long x 1/2" dia, it also has a white LED with a latching push on/push off switch. Includes (1) "AAA" battery for the LED and (2) button cell batteries for the thermometer.
