Dual Safety
This 3-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" white night light is doubly safe. First, the inherent purpose of a night light is for safety. And secondly, the light covers up the unused outlet in a dual-socket wall-outlet. A safety panel on the unlit portion of the light folds down to expose the second outlet if desired. Made with little ones in mind.

Adapting to AC-Surplus Transformations
There is an entire class of transformers that surplus dealers call "AC Adapters." What we really mean is transformers that plug directly into the wall (primary voltage 110 VAC), and via a cord and/or plug provide various levels of output current at variou s voltages. It is a rare buyer of surplus that gets the plug configuration he/she wants, and many get snipped off (plugs that is). They are handy power supplies, battery charging units, substitutes for batteries in toys and games, or for providing safe il lumination to models and displays. Be sure to note whether the output is AC or DC (Direct Current, like a battery) and whether it can provide enough current for your application. Unless otherwise noted, all are suitable for indoor use only. Stick with us and you'll get the hang of adapting to AC...and at much lower prices than your friendly appliance/game/computer/calculator shop asks. It's A Snap

Duck-billed Locking Pliers
Welders and other people with marketable skills know that these are sheet metal clamps, but the rest of us treasure the sundry other wonders they perform. (Wasn't that poetically put?) The handles lock, and the 3" wide jaws are just ducky at straightening out bent stuff, taking cookie sheets out of hot ovens, clamping oddly-shaped things with even pressure while the glue dries, snapping tile or glass after scoring it, and thumbscrew tightening. Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

Soldering Gun in a Jar

That's what we say about this drill pump! Screw hoses to the threaded inlet and outlet valves (1" dia. standard garden hose size) and attach the 1/4" dia. shaft to your drill. Turn the shaft and it pumps for you. Great for aquariums, flood plains, waterbeds, maybe even a mechanical straw! Pump is 2-7/8" dia., 4-1/2" long with the in/out valves.
