Optical Glass Filters
Al Luebbers, our founder, collected glass. Not glass like you'd find on a knick-knack shelf, but optical glass. Lenses, prisms, reticles and filters, for example. Focus on the filters. Many of his filters came out of military surplus, and this is for-real stuff. We mean many are solid dyed optical glass, ground and polished to flatness standards that were probably excessive. Others are from the old days in photographic optics, and their standards were even tighter than your militaristic Uncle's. We've found that photographers, artists, and optical designers still have an occasional need for good glass filters, so we're making a list of some goodies. As always, don't be timid about calling for quotes on quantities. If we have 'em, we'll sell 'em. Just don't sell them back. Please! If you're just playing, the assortment set may be a better way to go. Can't decide?? New to filters?? Doing a science project on light?? Let us assort (6) different filters of at least 20mm. dia for you.

Good across the occupational spectrum, from visual artists to physics teachers-this full-service color paddle set comes with red, blue, green, cyan, magenta, and yellow gels; (2) diffraction grating gels-(1) at 13.5 lines/inch, double axis, and (1) 500 lines/mm; (2) polarizing filters; and (1) translucent white diffusing filter with 63% transmission. All gels and filters are 2-1/8" x 2-5/8" in cardboard frames 5-7/8" long, and there's a built-in spectral transmission chart for primary and secondary colors. Made in the USA.

Moving Air?
It's so much easier electrically. Get this small vacuum pump rated at 130 VDC 300mA. Comes in (2) parts. You'll need to add (4) small bolts to attach them together. Unit measures 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" OA, with 1/4" inlet and outlet hosebarb ports flanking the housing. Rated for intermittent duty it was originally designed for a vacuum-sealing food machine and will pull 25" Hg max.
