Accent Lighting

So that your wheat can see where it's growing. OK, they're really for all those teeny-light needs: dollhouses, models, robots, train sets, like that. This set was made to be a repair kit for Aura Grain of Wheat rope lights, and you can still use it for that, but you'll get an 18" length of 3/8" dia clear or colored rope with (18) white lights inside, plus (2) 1-3/4" pieces of clear shrink-wrap tube, and (2) 2-pin splice connectors. The 18" length operates at 120VAC & draws approx. 9 watts. Use it as is or slice the tube and remove the 6 volt GOW lights.

A Little Lightning

Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

Ga-Booooiiiiiinnngggg!

The manufacturer calls it the Thunder Tube". We call it indispensable for the amateur Foley operator. It's a 7" long x 2-1/2" dia PVC tube with a resonant head at one end attached to a 17" long x 3/16" dia extension spring. Shake it, scrape it, wiggle it, use your palm to muffle it and you generate creaks, deep warbles, rumbles, weird heterodyne-ish gong effects, wa-wa's, rude noises, and, yes, realistic thunder. A perfect musical companion to your cuica and rain stick--and good, clean fun around the house. Don't make a sound-track without it.

We'll pick (1) of (3) diffraction patterns inside (1) of (6) heavy cardboard frames: undersea critters, fairyland, jungle life, a wizard, dolphins or a garden with butterflies and a hummingbird. It will "transform light into an explosion of multiple hues," and who doesn't like that? Comes with a suction cup to mount in your window, and if you're a minimalist you could cut the cool prism out of its frame and we wouldn't tell a soul.

Interesting wire contraption that we played with as a child. A series of (4) tiers of overlapping and intertwined brass wire semicircular hoops are anchored at the open end to a pair of full circles. The whole can be shaped into a tube, double balls, a flower petal, etc, depending upon what areas are opened, which closed. A variety of colored beads on the hoops add a decorative touch. Well, I'll Be Hanged

Which is what happens to swivel hooks. Because I can then swivel and turn without ever unscrewing myself from the ceiling and dropping stuff on your head, on account of I know you hate that. And I come with a buddy just like me-we're a matched set of swivel-style ceiling hooks in black-coated aluminum with 1/2" wide openings. And we come with a pair of wood screws plus a bonus set of 2-1/2" toggle bolts, in case the ceiling isn't up to doing its part.
