Wind the string through the spindle, pull it firmly to set the flywheel spinning, and perform effortless balancing magic on pencil tips, string tightropes, and the like. We tend to forget that bicycles and aircraft navigation both rely heavily on gyroscopic principles. It's never too early to tell the kids. Besides, it's fun.

A gyroscope with added entertainment value, and no old-fashioned string to pull. Get it up to speed with the geared pull-strip, and a spinning red LED automatically lights up. The 2-3/4" tall x 2" dia gyro is metal and plastic, with a small plastic stunt stand, and will continue to balance intriguingly, even If you somehow manage to wear out the LED's non-replaceable batteries. For ages 8 and up.
