You can count on the quality of optical equipment by Galileo(r), so we're confident you'll like these binoculars. Their die-cast aluminum bodies are covered with a suede-like rubber for comfort and grip. The wide-angle lenses are fully coated. They have lens caps and removable lanyards, and come in padded nylon-canvas carrying cases with shoulder straps. The C 840, 5-1/2" from front to back, is 8 x 40 with a field of view of 430 ft/1000 yds. The 6-1/2" deep C1050 is 10 x 50 with a field of view of 367 ft/1000 yds. Both have a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer, and either one would make an exceptional gift that would be used now and for years to come.

The kids need presents for all the grandmas and great-aunts? You volunteer at the nursing home and need token gifts for your L-O-Ls? And your eyes aren't so good, either? Our each is really half a dozen pretty little magnifiers with round lenses and fancy handles. The handles are silver-bright (hard to believe they're aluminum) and all different. Each has a discreet hole in the tip for a jump ring so it could be worn on a necklace -- but it would look just as pretty on a desk. The overall length of the (6) magnifiers varies from about 3-3/4" to 5", the lenses from 1-1/4" to 1-3/4" dia. All are approx 2X magnification. Mary Ann's pick of the month.
