Little Glass Ampules
Terrific little glass bottles with looooong necks, in the shape called "Ampules". About half the total height is a standard cylindrical shape, at the top of this there is shoulder and above that, is an elongated tulip shaped neck. All are clear. They may have either a blue, gold or ground band on or below the "bulb" of the tulip. Bud vases for a single forgetmenot, decorative holders for colored sand or water, delicate vials for perfumes and essences, whatever the use, you just won't find them in stores. Mini-Monster Prism
Optical grade unsilvered glass prism from Uncle's WWII tank periscopes. This one is 2-1/8" on the hypotenuse, 5-3/4" long, and 1-1/2" on each leg. They may come with small non-interfering chips or surface scratches. Great for classroom experiments or for art projects. Ground Glass
One wiseacre assumed we meant any package leaving our shipping room that once had a glass object in it. That is a malicious rumor. . . Ground glass is thin plate glass, the surface of which has been physically ground or acid-etched to create a grainy, grayish, opaque surface. Use it to produce an image from a lens or lens system. Even a simple magnifier, held between the ground glass and, say, a window, will produce an image of the window scene on the ground glass. Ground glass has another magical property: it is opaque to any object viewed at a distance, but not if that object is in direct contact with the glass surface. A necessary element of your optical education. #2728 (square) is 2"sq x 1/32" thick. #2610 (rectangular) is 3-1/2" x 4-3/8" x 1/16" thick.

Mashers and Smashers
Porcelain mortars and pestles. Great heavy duty mortars, with sides that are easily 5/16" thick on the smaller ones, and up to 1/2" on the larger. The mortars are glazed outside, but rough inside, the better to grind, and have a pouring lip. The business ends of the pestles are unglazed, while the shafts are glazed. Very functional, very good looking!! So grind your own spices or lab concoctions as you prefer. You get a mortar and pestle as a single order.

Real Corks!!
We have obtained a large number of real natural corks, mostly surplus with a few fill-ins bought commercially. They range across the popular sizes used in science labs to seal vessels (drill your own holes for glass tubing, etc) and to use as floats. Or just use them to seal bottles that don't have closures or cry out for a decorative seal.

Zillions of little bottles. Renegades from a pharmaceutical company, leftover unfilled from runs of exotic we-know-not-what. We have divided them into three basic shapes: A, Narrow Mouth, h (Narr Mo) have a 10mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 13mm dia. 3mm rim and a 7mm dia. opening; B, Wide Mouth, (Wide Mo) have a 16mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 19mm dia. x 3mm rim and a 12 or 13mm dia opening; C, Sloped Shoulder, (Sl Sh) have roughly 5-6mm long neck that tapers from the soft shoulder to 15mm dia, with a 19mm dia x 3mm rim and a 12-13mm dia. opening. Height refers to height overall, and dia. to the body dia. in the table below. Great items for the doll house (for kids old enough not to swallow them), to hold tiny wild flowers, for decorative art work, individual cruets, or just to hold and marvel at. All quite sturdy glass. In the real world, you would pay from $75 (smallest) to $225 (biggest) for 288 of these, which is the smallest quantity you could get!! Narrow mouth bottles take a #00 cork. (Our part number 88746) Wide mouth and sloped shoulder bottles take a #3 cork. (Our item number 88748)

Popcorn Rock…
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.
That’s right, a rock that grows crystals that look sort of like popcorn! Just immerse it in vinegar and wait 1 to 3 weeks (instructions included). It looks like a roughly 2" lump of coal before crystal growth, in case you were wondering. Truly amazing!
