The British Are Coming
From our friends at the Naval Training Equipment Center come these 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” black-on-white flash cards of U.S. and foreign ships and planes. The 2-deck set has (55) cards for ships and (55) for planes and copters. (The cards are from 1983, so those that are no longer current, are now collectible!) Each aircraft card shows silhouettes from different perspectives, with the wing and fuselage markings as well as info on size, speed and range. Each ship card shows the silhouette and a diagram of the weapons placement, and lists the countries, class, length and displacement for that ship. Interesting. Informative. Very cool looking, whether you’re interested in arms or in art!

CJ is the resident musician at A.S.&S., and he can play this roll-up keyboard to a fare-thee-well. "It sounds great," he says, "and it doesn't get any more portable than this." About nine steps beyond nifty, this extremely cool electronic keyboard unrolls to 25-1/4" long x 5-1/4" but the 1/8"-thick rubber-membrane keyboard rolls up around the sound module to become the exact size of healthy ham and cheese sandwich. It has (26) different tones, (99) rhythms, (10) demo songs, a (3) octave range and it runs on (3) "AAA" batteries that we've included. The business end has volume, power, function, start and stop controls, a built-in 1-3/4" speaker, headphone output and jacks for a 6VDC 300mA adapter 3.5mm plug (not included). And if you let the cat play on it, we bet you'll get Phillip Glass tunes.

Krazy Like a Foks
They call it the "Krazy Cutter" and it's going to make your life a whole bunch easier. It's a little 2-3/8" long x 3/16" thick teardrop-shaped paper slicer with a teensy rust- and dullness-proof ceramic blade that magically cuts through paper and plastic. Perfect for clipping newsprint, cutting wrapping paper, and opening deviously sealed packaging, including the heavy stuff if you press a bit. Even CD cases. The krazy part? Won't cut your fingers or anything else. You could run it right over your hand, press down and everything, and nothing. Really. We tried it on some expendable employees. You know what this means? Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

Why The Blank Face?
So you can decorate it, you crafty thing. This tan-colored papier mache mask is 8-3/8" tall x 5-3/8" wide at the eyes, pretty much the size of your average human face. The side curves around so the mask is 1-3/8" deep. The material is 1/32" thick and very sturdy. Not crafty? Left unpainted, the mask has a certain spooky charm.

We Wuz Framed
And we did it ourselves with this little mat cutter and self-healing cutting mat. The dual-blade mat cutter has a comfy rubber handle and a removable bevel for clean 45° cuts. The blade adjusts to 9/16" deep and is 4-1/2" long OA, and replacement blades are standard stock in art supply stores. The hard rubber cutting mat is self-healing and no, we don't know how it does that. It's 11-3/4" x 8-3/4" x 1/8" thick, marked with 1/8" and 5mm increments and 1/2" squares, and lines for 45° and 60° cuts.
