A Sherlock Holmes-type magnifying glass is good, but this is better. It frees your hands and throws light on the subject! This 120-volt magnifying desk lamp has a heavy 7-3/8" x 5-1/2" x 2" base with a power switch, standard lamp cord, and 11" gooseneck ending in a 5-1/4" dia shade. Under the shade is a circular fluorescent bulb and a 3-3/8" dia lens with a flip-back cover. The box says the lens is 5X, we think it's closer to 2X. Either way, it's a major improvement if you need help to examine scientific specimens, to inspect stamps or jewelry, or just to read. And we won't even talk about how your nail care is going to improve after you see your cuticles under this thing!

It's clear that we can't describe all of these crystal-clear vinyl bags and totes. We've seen them from 5" x 2-1/2" x 5" deep to 11" x 2-1/2" x 9" deep and in half a dozen sizes in between; with white, black and no binding; with and without handles. Most have zippers, but a few don't. The vinyl in most is similar to what is used in a makeup bag. What they all have in common is that their high quality. Most of us are rectangular, some round, most off-white, some black, most with pins, some with pocket clips, and all of us have been sitting around a long time, waiting to be used, so you'll get a broad assortment. Sizes range from 1/2" x 2-3/4", to 2-1/2" round, to 2" x 3-1/4"-you know, badge-sized. Most of us have little grooves to take a Dymo® label tape, 3/8" or 1/2", but we're all ready for a marker or sticky paper label. The best news is that paper labels won't fall off us the way they do from every suit fabric known to humankind.

And we did it ourselves with this handy self-healing cutting mat. The hard rubber cutting mat is self-healing and no, we don't know how it does that. It's 11-3/4" x 8-3/4" x 1/8" thick, marked with 1/8" and 5mm increments and 1/2" squares, and lines for 45° and 60° cuts.
