Actually, to dye with. Top quality highly concentrated fabric dyes from Putnam Dye Co. (Since 1876!!) The fadeless dyes come in individual packets with enough for about 1 pound of dry material. And they work on a very wide range of natural and synthetic fabrics. We have a rainbow of colors from which we will pick (3) different ones for your order. Use them in the sink, washer, or stove top. Fadeless, they come with instructions.

One of those sharpie East Coast outfits pulled a fast one on this poor naive Midwestern dealer. The result is we have a pile of exotic coated copper magnet wire. The coatings and colors vary widely, as does the gauge of the wire. With a couple of exceptions there isn't enough of any one kind among the hundreds in the pile to list separately. So we are offering an assortment and you get whatever we grab. Either way you will get a terrific value, particularly if you have an exotic application and get just what you need. Even if you are just making a garden variety coil or electromagnet you will still find the prices are very good. So go ahead, profit from our misfortune. We are glad to be of service. Sigh.

The wave of the future. Create your own ISP or long-distance phone company. The plastic fiber-optic cables are clear, 1/32" dia single strand. Unjacketed is IFC-U1000, 1000nM. Jacketed cables are encased by black plastic, 1/16" OD, IFC-E1000, 1000nM. What do modelers do with it? A recent magazine on model railroading showed how to build a lighted marquee using fiber optics. Pretty neat!! The big boys get $1.60 to $1.90/per foot for this stuff!! All fiber optics sold in 10-ft lengths. Extremely neat!!

Miniature 5–1/2" steel needle files. They come in the usual assortment of flat, wedge, triangular, and round shapes, (10) in all. They seem to be pretty uniformly fine with none that we would call coarse. Made in China, they come in a vinyl carrying case that snaps shut. Not as classy as some of the sets we have seen in the $18.00 range, but perfectly serviceable for most applications. And at a third the price.

There is an entire class of transformers that surplus dealers call "AC Adapters." What we really mean is transformers that plug directly into the wall (primary voltage 110 VAC), and via a cord and/or plug provide various levels of output current at variou s voltages. It is a rare buyer of surplus that gets the plug configuration he/she wants, and many get snipped off (plugs that is). They are handy power supplies, battery charging units, substitutes for batteries in toys and games, or for providing safe il lumination to models and displays. Be sure to note whether the output is AC or DC (Direct Current, like a battery) and whether it can provide enough current for your application. Unless otherwise noted, all are suitable for indoor use only. Stick with us and you'll get the hang of adapting to AC...and at much lower prices than your friendly appliance/game/computer/calculator shop asks. Unless otherwise noted, all adapters are for 115 volt AC primaries, and all have about 6 ft. cords. (MA=Milliamp) (A=Amphere) (VDC= Volts DC) (VAC= Volts AC)t

Zillions of little bottles. Renegades from a pharmaceutical company, leftover unfilled from runs of exotic we-know-not-what. Height refers to height overall, and dia. to the body dia. in the table below. Great items for the doll house (for kids old enough not to swallow them), to hold tiny wild flowers, for decorative art work, individual cruets, or just to hold and marvel at. All quite sturdy glass. In the real world, you would pay from $75 (smallest) to $225 (biggest) for 288 of these, which is the smallest quantity you could get!! Narrow mouth bottles take a #00 cork. (Our part number 88746) Wide mouth and sloped shoulder bottles take a #3 cork. (Our item number 88748) For those who can't make up their minds we offer an assortment of (10) bottles, with at least (5) different ones from the table below.

Campers put these pads under their sleeping bags to insulate themselves thermally and ergonomically from the hard cruel ground. They call them "Insulite" which sounds like a brand name and they are military grade. We don't know if the items we have are seconds from that company or somewhere else, but we can't tell the difference. They are at least 20" x 60" and are 3/8" thick dense foam rubber. We have light blue, dark blue khaki/green and mauve/purple, from which we shall pick your purchase. One side is glossy with more closed pores than the other. We have used them, and they are great! Feather light too at only 20 oz. Good as light duty tumbling or exercise mats as well.

You can tell military budgets have been cut when Russia starts selling us her uniform buttons. Our bushels of buttons are 1/2" to 1", mostly metal (brass, copper, silver), mostly Russian (with some Canadian, French, and others), all interesting and collectable. The shiny brass buttons with the stars are nice, if you don't mind a hammer and sickle. We'll pick out (10) for you, but can't promise which ones.

Stop picturing a fat cable you can use to tie down an airplane. This is great 20–strand twisted cable from the aircraft industry, but at 1/16” dia, it’s sized more for a Chicago Cub than a Piper Cub. The cable is high–quality stainless steel, unjacketed and very strong. Use it to hang extremely heavy mirrors, make repairs, create bendable metal sculptures! Order in 15–foot or 100–foot hanks. Enjoy!

Riffler files are most prized by sculptors, wood carvers, model makers and similar fashioners of precision objects. They come in a variety of flat, round and triangular shapes. They are usually pointed and always have a delicate curve toward the point which makes them particularly useful for working in tight and curvy spots. We have a set of (10) in an attractive red plastic case. They are 3 x 180 mm size (about 7"), and were made in China for the King Manufacturing Co. Very nice quality at a very nice price. They can cost as much as $4.00-$5.00 apiece in regular outlets.
