Raw Power
Raw as in unglazed, not in pulling strength. These small, geometric ceramic magnets, in their unglazed state, look surprisingly like cast iron-dark gray metallic and slightly mottled. Would be perfect for holding notes on your industrial refrigerator in that loft you've got in Tribeca. You don't? Well they go just as well with black, white or stainless steel in Dubuque. Or coat the faces to match your décor-we suggest nail polish or model paint. In packages of (10) triangles and hearts, all 1/4" thick, 1-3/16" to 1-1/4" across, polarized on one face and with about 1-lb pull.

Never Weaken
Good advice-and true of this dynamo torch. Actually a (3) LED flashlight, but we think the manufacturer had the Brits in mind when he named it. Has (3) LEDs and a switch that lights (1) or all (3) of them. Runs on an internal, rechargeable lithium-ion battery that you crank up-(1) minute of winding provides (30) minutes of light. (We read it on the box.) And it's a palm-sized cutie that has a very Voyage-to-the-Bottom-of-the-Sea look to it. A must for blackouts!

Re-Usable Tape
They're fightin' over this stuff in the office. The 3M" people call it "Bundling Wrap" and sell it for wrapping fishing rods, bundling tent stakes, cable, cords, like that, but we think it's got hundreds of applications. It's 1" wide forest green fabric ribbon/tape with very, very small hooks on the back and teensy loops on the fabric front. Cut off just the amount you'll need, wrap it around stuff, and it hangs on like it's in love. Very useful for gardening, crafts, organizing tools and briefcases, strapping pants to ankles on bike commutes, being the utilitarian ribbon on a gift wrapped for some handy guy, and lots more. You'll get a 9-foot spool, super-cheap, and we'd hide it if we were you.

Heavy sleeper, are you? How about the kids? Up An At'Em® emits a stunningly annoying GHHOOOOOOOWW whine that's guaranteed to get anyone up and whimpering pathetically to turn it off. Dwayne, guess what Momma gave me? It's this cute little orangey-smelling pen-shaped thing made by the Scotch® tape guys, only instead of writing, it takes away marker marks, and grease stains and such, and Momma says to me, "Shirley Sue, Honey," she says to me, "This is just the ticket to take off that sticky adhesive residue left on the pickup from all those 'Abandoned-Tow Away' stickers." And, Dwayne, it's over a third of an ounce, so there'll be plenty left to clean those lies about our Miranda off the front of her school locker, too. This surely is good stuff!
