LEDs By The Dozen
Light emitting diodes. Solid state devices that provide the ubiquitous power and indicator lights on your electronic gadgetry. Unlike lamps, there are no filaments that glow. Rather, some two volts of DC power at a miniscule 10 to 20 milliamps of current get the chemistry excited, and they just plain emit. Emit is a good word, too, as they don't really cast light, but glow brightly. We have a nice assortment of 3 and 5 MM diameter sizes in red, green, orange, and yellow. The longer lead is always positive, the shorter always negative, and you always need a current limiting resistor (about 500 to 1,000 ohms for 5 to 9 volt DC sources) to keep the current in the 10-20 MA range. If that's Greek to you you're either going to blow a lot of LED's or learn to change incandescent indicator lamps ! !

Battery Holders
We have a number of battery holders, constantly changing in detail. They may be plastic, they may be metal. They all have either simple short wire leads or connection points. In all cases, they hold a number of batteries and connect them internally in series. The table shows the number and type of batteries held, the final voltage, material, lead type and price.

Digital Multimeter
3-1/2 digit LCD electrical multimeter with a max reading of 1999. Measures (5) ranges of DC, (2) ranges of AC voltage both to 500 V, (5) ranges of resistance to 200K ohms, DC current to 10 Amp., diode test, transistor and battery test. A pocket sized 2-7/8" x 5-3/4" x 1-1/2", it comes complete with test leads and 9 volt battery. The best value for this size we have seen.

One of our truly unusual treasures. It's a used 28 VDC single-pole/single-throw toggle switch, possibly military surplus. A sensor mounted on it is labeled Oxygen Warning Switch. We think that means that it switches off in the presence of pure oxygen, the better to keep from blowing something to kingdom come with an errant spark. Overall, it's 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1", not counting the 3/4" toggle. The 3-pole sensor itself is under a black-painted aluminum cover 1-1/2" high x 7/8" dia. (3) leads, (3) holes in its right-angle mounting bracket. We're just not sure what it is that would be blown up if it weren't there.

Takeout Hitachis
The 24 VDC Hitachi stepper motor is labeled with Kodak’s part number 315871. Each has 1:5 gearboxes, (3) Hall–effect sensors, and 12 steps per revolution (without the gearbox). The motor cases are 1–3/4” thick x 3–5/8” dia. The 2–1/2” sq x 15/16” thick gearboxes terminate in 1” x 3/8” dia flattened shafts with mounted plastic cams. Each has a set of (7) and a set of (3) leads with Molex–type connectors. The motor draws 2.4 amps. Sorry, folks, that’s all we know.

Screw-Plus, That’s Us
Assorted hardware from Textron Logistics Company: Most of the screws are round-headed machine screws with matching nuts and combination slotted/Phillips heads. The screw eyes are all-steel. The wood screws are brass. The lock nuts have nylon inserts. The number of screws in each pack varies, but you’ll get (8) of the packs. We’ll let you do the multiplication.

ALL Things To ALL People
This deluxe ABS storage case is called a Store-It-ALL, and it does. But it could be called a Carry-It-ALL, for the sturdy handle and locking clasp, or it could be called a See-It-ALL, for its translucent lid. Or a Fits-It-ALL, for the removable dividers that let you configure it with any number of compartments from 5 to 26. But the 12" x 18" x 3" OA case should really be called ALL-I-Ever-Needed- To-Get-Organized!

What A Deal!
We don't know exactly what this doohickey is for, but we're sure that if we were selling it to the government, it would cost at least a couple of hundred dollars. Labeled an ASM Cable Sensor (JKM Part #QMPD9700-3493-01), it has (2) 32" leads and a 1/8" dia eye in a 17/32" x 13/32" x 3/8" casing. It has a nominal impedance of approx 120,000 ohms in normal ambient light, and will go down to 750 ohms in bright light. If you want a bulk price so you can peddle this to Uncle Sam, just call. We can talk.

Treat With Heat
Start with one naked wire or a number of them, and a piece of our clever tubing, and end up with nice, tightly covered wire. For the specific diameters below, our each is a package of (10) 12" pieces of heat-shrink tubing. For an assortment of sizes, our each is a dozen pieces of 4" long tubing. You'll get (4) pieces each in 1/8", 1/4" and 1/2" diameters. All sizes are black. All will shrink to trim diameters half their current size when heated to 125°C/257°F. If only it worked on waistlines.
