Good Tweezers

This set of (6) tweezers is as useful as it looks daunting. The (6) stainless steel tweezers vary in size from 4-1/2" up to 7". Two of the tweezers have serated tips one is inverse, one has a slide latch and the others are straight flat tip. The set comes in a clear front plastic carrying case. Tiny Table Lamp

On tiny tables or the desktop, this lamp throws a nice puddle of light for its size. The 4-1/4" x 3" x 1-1/2" tall base supports an 8" long gooseneck with (14) bright white LEDs at the top. Silver-plastic and chrome, with a pushbutton switch on the base, it comes with (3) "AAA" batteries. We're putting ours on top of the dresser so maybe we'll finally be able to tell what color socks we're taking out of the top drawer, but it would make a nice little reading or camping lamp. Should give 15 hours of light with fresh batteries.

It's stylish, it's handy, it has a slightly menacing look to it, and-truth be told-it's a lot of fun. Accountant In A Jar

Or in the lid, actually. Jobar's Money Machine is a clever little bank that counts your change as you put it through the slot on top, and keeps a running total up to $999.99. (That's more than the jar will hold, of course, but you could always attach the lid to a 55-gallon drum.) Measures 6-3/4" tall x 3-1/2" dia in clear plastic, and you add a pair of "AA" batteries. Counts quarters, nickels, dimes, and pennies only.

Beauteous Brass Sextant

Sextants came along after astrolabes but before GPS. (Just like you.) They're used for finding latitude and the distance between objects, and are still the non-electric, non-satellite-dependent back-up for navigators. Ours is a beauty in solid brass with glass optical components, at a tiny price. Measures approx 4-5/8" x 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" OA and comes in a very nice wooden case. Includes instructions for use, which you're going to need unless you went to Annapolis where they still teach it because computers can still go all kaflooey. (Note that well before computers started going kaflooey, compasses and sextants lost an adventurer here and there, too, so don't call us if you and the sextant set out for Madagascar and end up in Iceland.)
