Pencil Torch
Refillable butane torch, with a 1/2" dia x 5-3/4" body and a 1/4" dia. x 2-1/4" long head. Strong enough to melt solder, silver and gold solder, glass tubing and such metals as gold, silver, copper, tin, and aluminum. Equally handy around the hobby shop, jewelry bench, or lab. Little Glass Ampules
Terrific little glass bottles with looooong necks, in the shape called "Ampules". About half the total height is a standard cylindrical shape, at the top of this there is shoulder and above that, is an elongated tulip shaped neck. All are clear. They may have either a blue, gold or ground band on or below the "bulb" of the tulip. Bud vases for a single forgetmenot, decorative holders for colored sand or water, delicate vials for perfumes and essences, whatever the use, you just won't find them in stores. Ground Glass
One wiseacre assumed we meant any package leaving our shipping room that once had a glass object in it. That is a malicious rumor. . . Ground glass is thin plate glass, the surface of which has been physically ground or acid-etched to create a grainy, grayish, opaque surface. Use it to produce an image from a lens or lens system. Even a simple magnifier, held between the ground glass and, say, a window, will produce an image of the window scene on the ground glass. Ground glass has another magical property: it is opaque to any object viewed at a distance, but not if that object is in direct contact with the glass surface. A necessary element of your optical education. #2728 (square) is 2"sq x 1/32" thick. #2610 (rectangular) is 3-1/2" x 4-3/8" x 1/16" thick.

Real Corks!!
We have obtained a large number of real natural corks, mostly surplus with a few fill-ins bought commercially. They range across the popular sizes used in science labs to seal vessels (drill your own holes for glass tubing, etc) and to use as floats. Or just use them to seal bottles that don't have closures or cry out for a decorative seal.

Zillions of little bottles. Renegades from a pharmaceutical company, leftover unfilled from runs of exotic we-know-not-what. We have divided them into three basic shapes: A, Narrow Mouth, h (Narr Mo) have a 10mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 13mm dia. 3mm rim and a 7mm dia. opening; B, Wide Mouth, (Wide Mo) have a 16mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 19mm dia. x 3mm rim and a 12 or 13mm dia opening; C, Sloped Shoulder, (Sl Sh) have roughly 5-6mm long neck that tapers from the soft shoulder to 15mm dia, with a 19mm dia x 3mm rim and a 12-13mm dia. opening. Height refers to height overall, and dia. to the body dia. in the table below. Great items for the doll house (for kids old enough not to swallow them), to hold tiny wild flowers, for decorative art work, individual cruets, or just to hold and marvel at. All quite sturdy glass. In the real world, you would pay from $75 (smallest) to $225 (biggest) for 288 of these, which is the smallest quantity you could get!! Narrow mouth bottles take a #00 cork. Glorious Steam Stationary Plants...

Build a real head of live steam in the boiler, ease the throttle open and watch the engine take off. The stationary steam plants have nickel plated brass horizontal boiler, water gauge, whistle, safety valve, throttle, 3" dia flywheel and power takeoff pulley. Our dry pellet fuel model (includes 20 fuel pellets) has a single action horizontal piston engine and comes as a kit. It requires about 2 hours to assemble and mount on its roughly 7" sq base, using simple tools like pliers and screwdriver. Assembly adds to the fun and cuts the price! All parts of each are precision metal, plated or enameled as appropriate. Positioner/Holder
A fine concept and pretty successful execution. Weighted bases hold fully adjustable clips and lenses for delicate hands–free work. The Helping Hand w/solder has a 2” high base connected to (2) alligator clips via (3) universal joints and a 4–1/2" sliding beam, and to a 2–1/2" dia roughly 3X magnifier via another universal joint on the sliding beam. It also adds a holder for your soldering iron, plus a hole and thumbscrew in the base to firmly position it. The larger Work Stand has a 3–1/2” x 4–3/4” stand with a 2–3/4” square x 3/8” deep reservoir to hold small parts, an L–shaped sliding beam with (2) alligator clips, and another L-shaped beam with a 3–1/2” lens, about 4X magnification. Joints adjust every which way. The set screws can all be hand–tightened, but we suggest a small pliers to secure the hefty 4X lens. Think of the clips as extra hands to hold wires, components, beads, what-have-you while you perform some operation on them with your own two hands.

Dropper
Eye dropper, tongue dropper, test tube dropper, petri dish dropper, anywhere dropper. Use this 3" glass dropper, with a rubber squeeze bulb to drop small amounts of liquid wherever you think they should go. You will have to measure by counting drops, though, because there are no markings on it. Also, it is called "3" because that is about how long the glass tube is. Overall, it is 4" long.
