Multitasking Grinder
Give this adaptable Multigrinder a whirl, and we know you'll like it. It's heavy enough to stay put on its rubber feet, but small enough at 9-1/2" wide OA for you to move it to where you need it. The almost 3" dia wheels -- (1) for buffing, (1) for grinding -- are variable speed, up to 10,000 rpm. Best of all, it has a 31" flexible-shaft attachment with a 1/8" collet at the end. It accepts most Dremel®-type bits, and can save you the cost of a rotary tool. The 6-ft power cord has a 3-pronged grounded plug. Comes with detailed instructions for use and safety, and this reminder from A.S.&S. that you should tighten the wheels, if necessary, before using it, and always wear eye protection. It's not as strong as a big bench grinder, but it's a very cool hobby tool!

Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

Interesting wire contraption that we played with as a child. A series of (4) tiers of overlapping and intertwined brass wire semicircular hoops are anchored at the open end to a pair of full circles. The whole can be shaped into a tube, double balls, a flower petal, etc, depending upon what areas are opened, which closed. A variety of colored beads on the hoops add a decorative touch. Fun, intriguing and decorative all at the same time.

Uncomplicated Compass
Circles made easy. This kiddies' horizontal compass has a golf-course-style pencil on one end of a flat 7" ruler (in purple plastic) and a pointed, black-plastic pivot on the other. Hold one side, turn the other. A child could do it.

Exactly like that, in fact. This attractive brass-frame sand timer stands 3-1/2" tall x 1-15/16" dia with a real glass shell. The sand runs through in approx (2) minutes, give or take, but plenty close enough for an egg. Nice desk-top item, too, for people who budget their time.

D & D Figures
We have a set of molded plastic D & D type figures, all around 1–1/2” to 2” tall and unpainted. The grey set includes (2) griffins, (3) skeleton grim reapers in kilts and leggings and (1) strongman giant holding a box or block. Our Teal set has (4) Norse type axmen, (3) Norse type swordsmen and a giant hairy Yeti. All nicely molded, still on their sprue. In each case, you get (2) sprues, each of which has the full set detailed above.

The glow-in-the-dark plastic Cosmic Shapes are your whirlpool galaxy, your comets, your plunging meteorites, shooting stars, moons and the odd planet, for a total of 30 heavenly bodies. The stars are approx 1-1/2" across, the other bodies up to 5" long. The Stars & Planets set includes the usual, plus the recently dissed Pluto. You get (9) planets in full-color lamination (from 1-1/2" to 4-1-2" dia) plus (31) glow-in-the-dark plastic stars, approx 1-1/2" across. They're all ready to stick up on the ceiling or anyplace else with the small pack of easy-on, easy-off adhesive putty that's enclosed.

Ouch!
Looks like a cheap kid-sized tennis racket, but brother, this ain't for the kids. It's actually a fine way for adults to work on their upper-body strength and kill bugs at the same time. 18" long, with a 6" wide paddle lined with metal grid. A coil in the handle sends high voltage through the paddle when a button is pushed; hit a bug with it and the bug will bug you no more. But despite the manufacturer's claims that it's safe for people, Scott reports that flesh-paddle contact delivers a nasty shock, nasty enough to say "Keep this away from kids!" We've seen these in other catalogs for about twice the price, so buy it from us. Just be careful with it. 2 AA batteries, not included.

You Say Breadboad...
And the manufacturer, Elenco Electronics, says Bredblox, but what’s in a name? These are just nice little breadboards for electronic experiments. The Elenco Model 9830 measures 6-1/2" long x 2-1/8" wide x 5/16" thick with (2) power busses up both long edges and (63) double rows of more busses. The holes for components and jumper wires are approx .050" each and multiple boards can be interlocked via tabs and ports on the long edges. The Elenco Model 9418 is 6-1/2" x 1-3/8" x 5/16" and otherwise the same as the 9830, but without the power busses. Now go invent something and get rich.
