Or whatever the 1960s German army called their folding shovel while we were calling ours an entrenching tool. This German military-surplus version is remarkably similar to ours, except that it uses a push-in, spring-loaded bolt to open and lock. The olive drab blade is 7-3/4" x 5-1/2" on a 7-3/4" long x 1-1/4" dia unpainted wooden handle. Also has a 4" long, fold-out pick, and locks straight open or at a 90° angle. Comes in a leather sheath with belt loops. Used, so you know it works.
