C-Frame AC Motors
C-frame or open frame motors are popular in household fan and blower applications, though we at American Science have heard countless other suggestions, ideas and pipe dreams. They run on household current (110 - 120VAC), and they do this for a long time if properly fan-cooled. Low maintenance bearings may be oilable, sealed or permanently oiled as in Oilite bushings. Square shaped like a "C", with coil wound around stack, they usually mount from pairs of holes through the stack. Our shaded pole, 2-pole motors come in several sizes and configurations. Stack thickness is a general indicator of strength, ie: thicker=stronger. All operate at approximately 2600 RPM. Some motors are double shafted, providing CW & CCW rotation. Rotation can be reversible or dual shafted. For the fridge, the bathroom fan, any where you need to blow hot air, get a cold shoulder or retro-fit your automatic fly swatter.
