A Different Kind of Mars Light
You can't clamp this one top of your car, but it'll give your living room a lovely star-trekkish design flavor. A Saturn-like (oddly, given the name) planet sits atop a silver hourglass/lava-lampish base and either pulses or slowly, fetchingly morphs through luminous red, green, and lavender colors, via internal LEDs. Runs on an internal rechargeable battery or household current (adapter included), and stands 10-3/4" tall x 6-1/8" dia at its widest (the planetary ring). The ring and the center of the base have a decorative blue band.

The pattern will blend and fade in seconds as the crystals react to temperature. Tiny liquid crystals inside the film-like material react to heat by changing colors. The Monback Machine
Call it the Monback Machine, an electronic version of the guy directing you while you back in: "Monback, monback, monback, STOP!" You mount the 7-7/8" x 7/8" x 1-1/8" infrared-based back-up sensor near your rear license plate (or on it) and wire it to the reverse lights. A 1" black speaker with 10-foot leads mounts inside the car and beeps as you back up, getting faster and higher pitched as you approach objects. You adjust the triggering distance to a maximum of approx 3 feet. Includes mounting hardware and detailed instructions.

Egg McChameleon
Another gem plucked from the A.S.&S. mirabilia. The shape and size of a hen egg, this opaque stone (or matte-finished glass - we're not sure which) is interesting in itself. Touched with a red penlight in a dark room, the entire egg becomes a brilliant ruby color. Well, get a hacksaw, for pity's sake. Ours is heavy-duty steel frame in yellow and black with a rubber-padded handgrip and a 12" x 1/2" x 24-teeth/inch blade. Has a second set of blade-mounting tabs for 45° cutting. Takes standard 12" replacements and has a quick-blade-change system. From Omaha Industrial Tools.

Big Clip-On Magnifier
It's a beauty. Clear acrylic, rimless, 3-1/2" dia with an inset 3/4" dia lens. The lenses are 2X and 8X respectively (ignore the 3X and 12X on the box) and mounted on a 7" long gooseneck. On the other end of the gooseneck is a heavy-duty black spring clamp with 1-1/2" jaws. Both ends are removable with a Phillips screwdriver, if you're one of those folks who like to modify things and make new things from parts of other things.
