Simple Circuit
An easy way to light up the kids' eyes! Teach them to wire a simple circuit with our basic components. The knife switch is mounted on a plastic base. The miniature plastic socket holds a standard flashlight bulb with a 14 mm dia screw base. We pack 6 volt and 3 volt round bulbs, or 1.5 volt bell-shaped bulbs, (5) to a package.(Bulbs are rated slightly higher to prevent them from burning out.) Or hook up the black plastic and metal 2" x 4-1/4" telegraph key with brass contacts and (2) terminal posts with nuts. Our blue-plastic holder for (1) "D" battery has a small tab at each end to hook a lead to, and a 1/8" square mounting hole at each corner. You add the mounting surface and the know-how. Actual bulb voltage listed in parenthesis.

An Atomic Clock, Eh?
Recognize this digital atomic clock? You must be hanging around hospitals and other government institutions up in Canada, because this came from their actual supplier. Accurate to a fault and visible across a very large room, this giant digital clock refreshes and resets the exact time each night and is 16-1/2" wide x 10-1/2" tall x just 1-3/4" thick, with a clean, brushed-aluminum-look plastic frame. Displays time (digital LCD h/m/s, with h/m being 4" tall), time zone (select any of 6 North American zones), indoor temperature, day and date. Our favorite rubber horse's head mask might unsettle the other folks on the bus, but don't let that stop you. Measures 17" long from genuine fake horse-hair mane to wide open nostrils and mouth, which are open so you can see through them. (You really have to see this on someone to appreciate it!) This colt's a sorrel/bay - OK, brown - with a white blaze and great big eyes. Looks a little like he's not real happy about going into the gate. Wear it with, yes, jockey shorts.

Rejoice, we have finally found a source of reasonably priced borosilicate lab glassware. This is the kind of glass in the trade marked Pyrex(tm) and Kimax(tm) labware. The stuff you can put right over the flame of the Bunsen burner, or directly onto the hot plate. This stuff is imported from China, and is considered student grade, which is good enough for anything but the most exotic applications. We have beakers, test tubes, graduated cylinders and flasks. Compare the prices below and you will see that they are around half the U.S. equivalent. Call us for larger quantity prices.

Giant Whether Balloon
If the question is whether to tie a bunch of these giant weather balloons to a lawn chair, the answer is no. (They burst at about 82,000 feet anyway.) Besides, this is a true weather balloon, with plenty of fun, nonfatal uses. The cream-colored latex balloon is approx 40" dia when flaccid, you should pardon the expression, but has an 8-foot dia when inflated. The neck is 9" long x 1" dia. Scientists, meteorologists, inventors, teachers and the imaginative filmmaker are warned to launch the balloon carefully. The material is delicate and not made to survive brushes with pavement, pine branches, or clumsy physics students.

A Drive Train From Scratch
Build your own. This is a very nice kit from Tamiya, but not for beginners or the fumble-fingered, since it’s fairly complex and can take a couple hours to assemble. The Twin Gear Motor Kit has a pair of 2.3VDC motors that draw approx 60mA no load, stall at 130mA, and will run 60 to 212 rpm.
