Not to put too fine a point on it, these very fine natural bristle artists’ brushes come in a 10-pack of assorted sizes including 00 and 000. They measure 7” long with plastic handles, and they’re made by Duro Art Industries, Inc., right here in Chicago, the capital of American surplus since 1937. Priced right for home or classrooms.
We’re guessing it’s from a medical device, but we know for sure that it’s a pump assembly from The Lee Company of Connecticut. Looks expensive, like it should cost more than ten times our price, and that’s why you shop here. Has a 2-phase (275mA/PH) 4.4VDC stepper motor, a Honeywell microswitch home sensor and a secondary pressure sensor leading to a 3/32” outlet barb. Has 250uL volume and measures 5-3/8” x 1-1/2” dia with separate wiring to the sensors and motor. Item# LPVX0517.
And the light won’t come on. But that’s the point of this standard light bulb socket with an attached motion sensor. Good for bulbs up to 150W, and has a range of approx (30) feet. Good for use with incandescent, halogen or CFL bulbs. (Package doesn’t list them, but it worked fine for us with an LED bulb.) Turns off 10 minutes after the last motion-activation. Socket is 3” long, and sensor is 2-1/4" x 2-1/16" x 1-11/16" with a 1-1/2" x 7/8" window on a threaded ball/socket. CSA and ETL listed.
There are just two, actually, and one of them is a pencil, on a drafting compass. Sometimes it’s better to draw circles without using software, don’t you think? If so, try this one from Helix®, with 3-1/2” legs with (2) 2mm dia x 15mm long leads, a small sharpener, folding needle guard (for the other point) and a 3/8” ID pen/pencil holder with a thumbscrew lock. Made in France, merci.
Time to boldly go where no puzzles have gone before. These jigsaw puzzles both include the original crew, all with their really thin, 2260AD figures. You pick the 1000-piece Bridge puzzle with all (7) original crew members in a 3-foot x 1-foot puzzle, or the 600-piece Double Puzzle, 33” x 11-1/2”, in the shape of the original Enterprise (NCC-1701) with a photo montage of the crew on the reverse side.
Start with this one. It’s a white pencil-case-ish, red-zippered and lined nylon pouch, 9” x 4”. Has a filigree design in black on white, plus one monkey, one human hand and one red heart. For Carolinapad™ in their True Love line, and no, we don’t know why.
Plug this cut-diamond-shaped, white plastic speaker into your audio player, and its internal amp and 3/4” speaker will go to work. Measures approx 2” across x 1-1/4” deep not counting the standard 1/8” mini-plug. Recharges via the included USB cord. (Charge for a couple hours before using, and adjust the volume, as it’s prone to clipping.) You pick red, white or black.
Salmon scale. Whatever didn’t get away. This is the nicest fisherperson’s spring scale we’ve ever seen. Measures 6-1/2” long x 3/4” dia in anodized aluminum with a 4” long T-handle on top, plus a padded hook. Has an adjusting screw, an 11/16” hook for the fish on the bottom, and a 20-lb capacity graduated in 1/2-lb increments. Made for Cabela’s.
Our current favorite gas mask, direct from the Polish military. Full head and face style in a light gray rubber with round eye and nose apertures, plus a 20” long x 1-1/2” dia corrugated rubber hose from the bottom. Put them all together and they spell perfect alien costume. The other end of the hose attaches to a 7-1/8" x 5-1/4" x 2-1/2” dark olive drab filter canister with a sealed element. The whole shebang (shebang is szulernia in Polish, and you’re welcome) fits into an 8-3/4" x 10" x 3-1/4" olive canvas storage pouch with an adjustable 43" strap.
