Newtonian demonstrator for science teachers. Mindless play for the rest of us. These are shiny, nicely balanced, high-performance examples of the classic Newton's Cradle - a ball on one end of a row of (5) suspended, barely touching balls swings into the others, and the ball at the opposite end reacts to the collision. The 11/16" dia balls in the small version (all-metal frame 6-1/2" high x 4" x 4-1/4") will collide about 30 times. The 7/8" dia balls in the large version (metal frame 5-1/4" high x 4" x 6", with a wooden base) will collide about 100 times. Awesome. Even more awesome that we paid someone to count the bounces just for you! (Unpacking note: Less awesome if you just yank it out by the suspension lines and pull a couple of balls loose. Be gentle.)

It's a toy! It's a scientific demonstration! Drop the 1" ball with a straw attached and watch the outer rocket straw launch. The farther you drop it, the higher the launch, which is the fun version of Newton's Third Law of Motion. And we give you (2) rocket straws on account of we know you're going to lose one.

You take the Moo Popper, an open-mouthed 6" tall rubber Holstein, stick one of the (6) 1-1/8" dia chartreuse (or grass-colored?) foam balls in its mouth, give its bovine belly a good squeeze and it expels the ball across the room. Harder you squeeze, farther it flies. Impressive ballistics, good clean fun and an educational look at dairy farming practices all at the same time. Sorry, no fully automatic cows are available.

This sinister device seems at first glance to be an innocent ping-pong ball. Touch both of the metal strips on the weighted bottom, however, and a circuit closes, making the ball flash red and moan eerie electronic sounds. Can be used to illustrate the idea of an electric circuit to children-show how electricity can flow through a chain of people holding hands, or that a little dampness can improve conductivity, et cetera. Powered with two watch batteries (included) so there is no danger of shock.

Perfectly suitable for all your non-professional ping-pong-ball applications. These guys are white-ish, with a visible seam, and are 37mm in dia, as opposed to the standard 40mm or the former standard 38mm professional ping-pong balls. Priced so you can buy enough to do any number of clever things with them.

Not quite super-ball category, but plenty bouncy. We’ll send you (2) different orbs ranging from see-through with a bunch of glittery, multicolored stars inside to covered with swirled colors reminiscent of Munch’s The Scream or pink and yellow like a tropical sunset. All of which are super by themselves. Measures 1-3/8" dia.

OK, glass with blue LEDs, but still. This is a Newton’s Cradle, always seen with steel ball bearings, but this time with frosted glass balls glowing a stunning bright blue while they swing on wires and prove Newton’s Third Law, and if you have to look that up you shouldn’t be reading this catalog in the first place. Just kidding--it says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. You knew that. Newton would have ordered multiples of this beauty for all of his friends. Measures 7-3/4" tall on a 7" x 6" base with the standard (5) globes. You add (6) “AA” batteries for the glow.
