CRAFT GLUES & TAPE

That’s what the First Earl of Birkenhead said awaited “those who have stout hearts and sharp swords,” but it’s also what you could make with this set of (5) 4” long glitter glue pens from Elmer's®, (1) each in bright blue, olive, gold, red, and purple. Each has a fine tip and is filled with glittery confetti. Cleans up with warm water if you're quick. Not for use on photos.

Not just hooking-and-looping anymore, Velcro® brand now makes adhesive for plastics. Our each is a 1-oz tube for porous and non-porous materials, including PVC, plastics, rubber and leather. Permanent and fast-drying, they say.

Perhaps best known for its use in stained glass work, but you can take this copper tape/foil to liven up your crafts, from journals and scrapbooks to jewelry, collages and picture framing. And since one side is conductive, you can wire a dollhouse with it. We've also heard of gardeners using it to make slug/snail proof barriers. Crafts and repairs are made much easier with an applicator bottle. This translucent 20ml/.68-oz plastic bottle with a screw-cap that has a 1-1/2" long x 1/32" dia dispenser needle with a protective cap.

Was a time, Elmer’s® set the standard for basic, white, non-toxic glue. It’s still that time, but Elmer’s® has branched out, Surpies. Behold, the jumbo (1)-quart bottle of glittery, light blue, neon, glow-in-the-dark glue! Still safe, non-toxic and washable, but this stuff is flexible when it dries. Great for kids, who can use it to bind things together, as paint, or to make slime. Creativity factor is off the charts.

Heat-sensitive duct tape changes color and gets lighter the more heat is applied, as from sunlight or your paws. Why, you ask? Billy, our social media guru, says if you ask why, you don't deserve it. Just accept that it's cooler than all of the other duct tape, especially if you make a prom dress or tux out of it. And yes, if you had a broken chameleon you could try fixing it with this, but don't tell anyone we said so. Tape is 1-7/8" wide and 30 feet long.

This QMD (Quality Medical Devices of Canada) micro-perfed surgical tape is clear, transparent, and hypoallergenic. Made for easy tearing in either direction and often used for taping down IV tubes among other uses. Our each is (12) rolls, 1" wide x 30-feet.

Carpet tape is actually uncoated double-sided duct tape, used to stick rugs down, or anywhere you need to stick stuff to other stuff. This roll is 1-1/2" wide x a whopping 25 Yards long on a 3" core. Beige-ish color, after the backing is peeled off, but it really doesn't matter, since you won't see it (unless you make a prom dress out of it, but then you wouldn't be able to get out of the limo).

Look, no promises if your pool springs a leak, but this waterproof tape actually works under water. Measures 4" wide, and you’ll get 5 feet of it, in understated black. Adheres to plastic, metal, wood, plaster, concrete, glass and the proverbial "more," and makes a flexible seal. Best of all, you won’t even have to suffer through a tacky infomercial to get a roll. UV-, temperature- and weather-resistant.

Stick to it with (2) 0.07 oz (4g total) tubes of cyanoacrylate super glue. Best on ceramics, glass, metal, rubber, leather, wood, many plastics and artificial nails (the one on your fingers, we assume). Tubes have applicator tips. You will get (2) packs of (2) tubes with each order. Say that ten times fast!

From 3M comes this extra-festive packing tape because we heard you’re bored stupid with that brown stuff. You’ll get a (6)-pack of tape, 1-7/8" wide x 40 feet, in pink, aqua, red, lime-green and other colors, in stripes, zig-zags, polka dots and other festive patterns. Even the folks at the Post Office will appreciate the change.

Whenever we see something ripped in the forest we tape it with this brown and gray mossy oak camouflage duct tape from Vanish™. Just kidding, we don’t tape the forest. But this stuff is great for hunting, fishing and camping repairs. Looks cool on other stuff, too. Super-strong but it tears by hand. Roll is 2” wide x 60 feet long. That’s 20 yards if your plan is to mark off an outdoorsy-looking football field in a parking lot. Hey, it could happen.
