This battery-operated, hand-held hobby drill, carver and engraver spins at 13,000 rpm and runs on (4) “AA” batteries that you add. Includes a 3/32” chuck with an engraving bit, (2) grinding wheels, and a sharpener; an extra 1/16” chuck with (1) drill bit; and a 1/8” chuck for added tools. Handle and battery case are in a floral pattern, and the unenlightened manufacturer has labeled the package “Her Embosser,” so it serves them right that it ended up discounted at your friendly surplus supplier.

Sunprints (or cyanotypes, or photograms) are everyone's favorite photo-sensitivity experiment, from third-graders to graphic artists and fine artists. You pick: The Sunprinters are a dozen 3-15/16" square sheets of photosensitive paper, an acrylic backing sheet and instructions. The large Sunprint Kit has (15) sheets of 12" x 7-3/4" photosensitive paper plus a clear acrylic sheet of the same size. This plated N52 14,200 gauss neodymium magnet is shaped like a miniature silver ingot, measuring 1-1/2" long x 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick. Has a big hangonability quotient, which the manufacturer claims is 15 lbs of pull, meaning it's probably closer to 13 lbs. Impressive either way for such a cute little magnet. 

In translucent polypropylene, these measure 6” long with a bulbous top, 3mL capacity, dropper point and 0.5ml markings. The package calls these “Prospector’s Choice” and suggests using them to “collect fine gold particles with ease.” Feel free, but we like them for labs and crafts--anywhere that dropper dispensing occurs. Our each is a package of (50). Great for labs, crafts and hobbies.

Okay, it isn't the cheapest magnet in the warehouse - but we pulled about 35-40 pounds with this 4-7/8" x 1" x 3/4" ceramic magnet,  and we think it's a bargain. It has a 6" bracket with mounting holes on 5-1/2" centers, plus a 1/2" ID eyehook bolted into the center of it. It's all set to troll the bottom of the lake next time your filing cabinet falls overboard.

Nice rare-earth neodymium disk magnet, 1" dia, about the same as a quarter but over twice as thick at 4mm. Rare-earth magnets are permanent and powerful, and this one has approx 7 lbs pull, and always will. Comes with a galvanized metal keeper approx 2" dia so you don't lose it.

Rare earth magnets are usually killers for their size, and these thick nickel neodymium discs are no exception. The price, on the other hand, for (3) 7/16" dia x 1/4" 5-lb lift or (2) 15/32” dia x 3/16” 8-lb lift magnets each stored on a 2" dia steel disc, is a rare exception.

Or under it, or somewhere. These 1/4" thick cork rubber sheets are approx 22” x 16”, and they’re surplus from a gasket manufacturer. They make great vibration dampers, and can be cut to fit for furniture and floor protection. Also good to deaden sound in the storage of tools, and pots and pans. Various black streaks through the brown cork may militate against bulletin-board use, but then again maybe not since the bulletins will cover that anyway. And, yes, they're perfect if your hobby just happens to be gasket-making.

Prick tiny bits of gunk from nasty places with these U.S. made hardened stainless steel dental tools. But please don't use them for dental work. They are slight seconds, and some may have been re-worked which only matters to teeth. Trim excess glue from models, place a barrel on the deck of the ship-in-a-bottle, clean a rasp.
