It’s both, but we like to call clear glass spheres like this one “orbs.” Measures 60mm dia, or a little under 2-1/2”. Box says it’s a “telescope,” but what do boxes know? We have to say, we’ve seen better—this one’s field of view is a little narrow—but we love it for hiking, biking and camping since it weighs less than a 1/2-lb. Focus by easing one section in or out a bit. Has a rubber-coated body, and comes in a nice soft case with a belt loop and a lens cleaning cloth.

We are not going to lie...these scopes are entry level, lower power scopes. From our vast experience, they are really good spotting scopes, (over land) and good for looking at the moon. We don’t know what to call this awesome gadget except for what the package calls it, the Adventures Scope.
