You're buying the drinks and this wacky, yet debonair, bird with a top hat and plastic base (7" tall OA) can't get his fill of water. Get him started, and he dips his beak into your glass repeatedly. How? Fluid inside his glass body condenses from the evaporative cooling of the water off the bird's beak, making it top heavy and dunking it back into the water. The condensate rejoins the liquid pool in the bird's bulb, and he tips up again. Process continues indefinitely. It works, but it's not any more than moderately well made, and not any more than moderately priced. WARNING! The fluid and dye inside the bird can permanently stain, and the bird's glass body can easily be broken. Children are fascinated by the bobbing bird, and the educational possibilities are great. But they should watch him, not fondle him!! Manufacturer warning states this item is not intended for children 8 and under. 

Freeze-dried Neapolitan ice cream sandwich, it says on the foil package, just like the astronauts got if they ate all of their freeze-dried peas. Not frozen, of course, or even chilled, but you get one yummy pack, ready to eat, just under half an ounce, which is more than you'd think. 

Whatever you call them they are super handy. Used for suturing, these are carbon-steel straight-locking needle holders, 5” long with narrow serrated 7/16” tips. And yes, you’re permitted to use them for other stuff if you’re not a surgeon. (Or even if you are a surgeon, actually.)

Ceramic magnets, 15/16" dia x 3/16" thick. One side has a 5/16" sq that goes through to a steel plate is octagonal, 9/16" across with a 3/16" dia hole in the center. The plate allows flexible mounting of the 3/4 lb lift magnet. The other interesting feature is that the ceramic appears to have many poles around the rim, (4 ea N and S). This may be a focussing effect of the insert, though.

So the poster is really brand new. The animals on it are (1) to (190) million years old, and if that doesn't qualify as pre-history, may we stumble over a glyptodon in the dark. Invicta Plastics Ltd. of Leicester, England, printed this 23" x 16-1/2" poster with a colorful diorama to promote their authentic scale models of prehistoric animals. A time line across the bottom lists dates and data for a dozen of them, from the plesiosaur to the woolly mammoth, and compares their sizes to that of a pair of five-year-old children. Post it on the fridge to spark supper discussions, or in the classroom as a source of extra-credit questions for science quizzes.

It's hard to make a good exit if your feet keep slipping off the pedals. We have acquired (2) styles of replacement bike pedals, so you can depart in dignity. Cheap dignity. Flat-top pedals give each foot a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" hard plastic platform on a shaft with 1/2" dia x 7/8" threaded end. Both pedals threaded counter-clockwise. These "excel" pedals may have been made for an exercise bike. Concave pedals are 1-3/16" thick and have slightly dished 2-5/16" x 4" faces. These come in lefts and rights (you'll get one of each) with 1/2" x 1/2" clockwise and counterclockwise threaded shafts.

Or lampy flowers, we're not sure. We do know these ceramic lamp finials (the thingees that hold the shade on) are sweetly colored bunches of flowers, about 1" dia x 3" tall. Our each is a box of (4) including (1) each with yellow chrysanthemums, yellow daffodils, rose, purple and yellow tulips, and rose and purple somethings which we think may sort of be pansies. All have green leaves around the flowers. Very pretty, but we suggest you do not use them with a hi-tech decor.

Great little glass DCX lenses for all of your project needs.  Utilize their 48.3mm focal lengths for all classroom projects, or combine these with other lenses to build binoculars, magnifiers, microscopes and telescopes. These are seconds so may have small chips.

Black neoprene gaskets in a variety of sizes and shapes: loops, hoops and flat. Stretchy, a little dusty, but in good condition. The small round assortment gets you (2) gaskets, approx. 1/2"  dia cross-section, in loops with overall diameters between 1 and 3 feet. The large round assortment gets you approx. 3/4" dia. The Flat assortment is pieces that make loops of 2 to 5 feet dia. The rubber is about 2" x 1-1/2", but the shape varies: could be square, grooved, V-shaped, or something else. Use as is for really big valves, or better yet, chop it down to size. A great way to get cheap rubber materials for your non-critical applications We'll pick the exact dimensions and, in the case of the Flat assortment, the shape you get.
