SOLENOIDS & RELAYS

We thought power corrupts, but it turns out otherwise. Power locks. You could put these in a car door, or think up something really kinetically clever. These brand new 12VDC door lock actuator assemblies draw 2.6A pushing or pulling with a 5/8" throw. Measures 6-3/8" overall, 3-3/4" from the tip to the right-angle gear motor, which extends 1-5/16" out from the 1-3/16" thick body. Top has a removable plastic ring, the shaft is covered by a rubber boot and the bottom has 7-1/2" leads with bullet connectors. Comes with an eight-hole 8-7/8" x 9/16" steel mounting bracket, a 8-3/4" rod and assorted screws and mounting hardware.

This 5-pin socket is already wired with 9" leads in black, red, white, yellow and blue to its quick-disconnect sockets, ready for your 1/4" or 7mm spade terminals. Measures 1-1/4" x 1-1/16" x 1" thick. Matches our 94746 relay.

Like Mighty Mouse, here we come to save the day! Try this 110V 24W Normally Closed solenoid control valve. Has a 1/2” ID and a 7/16" OD outlet with a side feeder that may come with a foot or so of 3/16” ID tubing. Unit itself measures 4" x 3" x 2-1/2" with a pair of 1/8" mounting holes. Great for all kinds of DIY projects.

This take-out solenoid valve is a simple open/closed solenoid valve that is normally closed. It draws 100mA at 12VDC. Has 3/16" OD inlet and outlet at right angles to each other. Housing measures 1-3/16" long x 15/16" dia with terminals at the back end.

This 24VAC 6VA electro-pneumatic valve from Siemens USA, #265-1027, has three barbed plastic tube connections- normally open, normally closed and a common for 1/4" OD tubing and is rated for a max of 50psi. Commonly used to alternately apply pressure to and exhaust pressure from pneumatically controlled devices, but we're sure you'll find a clever way to use them in your weekend project. Measures just over 2" x 1-1/2" x 1" and is mounted on a 2-7/8" x 3/4" bracket with 3/16" mounting holes and 9" leads. UL.

We relay like this Schneider Electric solid-state relay, which is rated at 32VDC with a 24-280VAC 10A load. This little device has lots of nice features, including an optically coupled circuit to provide isolation between input and output, an internal snubber to protect from high voltage transients, and an internal heat sink for thermal management. All in a slim package with no mechanical parts, for longer reliability and silent operation. Operating temps are -30C to +80C. CIP rating: IP20, Series 861. This little solenoid air valve requires 220mA at 24VDC and is normally closed. Working pressure is 6 psi. The inlet and outlet are 3/16" OD x 3/32" ID x 1/4" long at right angles to each other. Comes with 6" leads with a Molex connector. Part #AJK-F0507.

Our latest normally closed solenoid valve from Parker fluid control division draws 6W at 110VAC and is rated for up to 10psi. Measures 2-3/16" x 1-7/8" x 2-1/8" counting the right-angle 1/4” dia brass hose barb ports on the left and the right-angle 3/16” brass hose barb port on the right. Includes a 1-3/4” L-bracket for mounting. Has a pair of 1/4” quick-disconnect terminals for power. UL/CSA. Mfg’s part # 15-200470-001 "B".

110-120vac 6w 10psi n/c solenoid valve from Parker. Take outs from unused coffee makers so they are brand spanking new. Measure 2-1/4" x 2-1/8" x 1-1/2" overall with a 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" x 1" L bracket and two right angle ports with a 3/16" barbs (1/8" id) coming out of a 2" x 1" dia. Has two spade terminals for power. Parker knows their valves and these are beauties. mfg. p/n 15-200340-001 "b"

Were you the one who needed an industrial relay? Oh, great, because here’s one from Midtex, and it’s rated for 30A and 1HP at 120VAC; 30A and 1.5HP at 240VAC; and 15A at 600VAC. Has SPST normally-closed load contacts, and coil will draw 25mA at 12VDC. Measures 2" x 1-3/4" x 2-3/8", including a plastic bracket on the face. Has 1/4" quick-disconnect terminals on the bottom.

We find ourselves in possession of a bunch of 10- microsolenoid switches from the Lee Company. They’re rated for 12VDC and 5 psid, probably between 250-500mA, mounted in a 2-1/2” x 2” x 7/8” metal block with a 1/16” inlet barb. Yours might come with one or more breakout cables and/or a 3-5/8” x 2-5/8” x 1-3/4” offset block. We believe the solenoids (Lee part # LHDX0515700BB) are epoxied onto the blocks.
