SHOP TAPES & GLUES

Ahh, what the heck, go crazy and call it whatever you want. It’s a (3)-pack of all-purpose contact cement glue in large tubes that hold just under (1) oz each. That’s a lot of very powerful glue. You could repair shoes, furniture, toys and appliances made of wood, rubber, metal, glass, leather, plastic or cork and still have some left over. A light coating from these self-piercing tubes is usually all it takes. Advanced formula dries clear and bonds fast. Package says to wait 15 minutes, but we’d wait a little longer just to be sure.

Wire glue-the solution when you can't find the soldering iron, don't want to bother, are out in the woods, don't quite trust a fifth-grader with a hot gun, can't reach the connection with both hands, whatever. This stuff conducts low voltage AC and DC circuits in a permanent bond and is easy to use. Our high-tech support group suggests that a toothpick is a good way to apply it. Cures overnight. Our each is a 0.3 oz/9ml jar.

We have to say, we’d love to see someone make a Red Fusion movie, or a Red Fusion soft drink. Until then, we’ll keep on loving this red Fusion Pro silicone tape. It’s water-retardant, self-fusing, 1” wide x 10 feet long. The pros use it for repairs and insulation because it stretches, sticks to itself and keeps water out—three things you often want in a roll of tape. The red color is just a bonus.

This is the stuff that won’t rip, split or tear, not even if you bite it, and you’re going to need a knife to open that package, bunky. It’s so strong it’s even hard to cut with the serrated blade on the included dispenser! Our each is (30) feet of 1-7/8" wide reinforced, filament packing tape in the afore-mentioned dispenser. Keep some around the house or in the garage.

What athlete wouldn’t want to be described as “krazy strong, krazy fast”? That’s what Krazy® Glue calls itself, and we see no reason why it shouldn’t. We’ve got the original, all-purpose, ultra-thick formula, no-run gel in a (2)-pack of 2-gram tubes with precision tips. Perfect for porous surfaces. Bonds to ceramic, plastic, wood, glass, porcelain, metal, leather, rubber and vinyl. Dries quick, and you can just take our word for that. Don’t go testing it on your fingers like we did in sixth grade.

This thin, double-sided translucent tape from 3M is the Cal Ripken Jr. of the tape game. Called double-coated dielectric tape 3514, its acrylic adhesive is super-sticky and adheres well to a wide variety of materials. Has excellent holding power, resistant to high temperatures and moisture, and will withstand high humidity with minimal cockling or wrinkling. 1" wide on a 3-inch core, the length will vary, which is why we've got them at this low price. You'll get approx 100 feet.

Nuclear physicists speak of five fundamental forces: weak, strong, electromagnetic, gravity, and duct tape. Sizes and colors of duct tape come and go in the world of surplus –– right now, we have 2" wide by 60 yd. long rolls on 3” cores, all select seconds or better. We offer you a standard grey color.

Carpet tape is actually uncoated double-sided duct tape, used to stick rugs down, or anywhere you need to stick stuff to other stuff. This roll is 1-1/2" wide x a whopping 25 Yards long on a 3" core. Beige-ish color, after the backing is peeled off, but it really doesn't matter, since you won't see it (unless you make a prom dress out of it, but then you wouldn't be able to get out of the limo).

If you’re old enough to remember the construction worker held in mid-air by a single drop of Krazy® Glue applied to his hardhat and stuck to an I-beam, you know just how miraculous this stuff is. If you’re not old enough, you’re young enough to Google® it. He probably got fired for tampering with PPE, but this instant glue still powerfully bonds wood, metal, ceramics, pottery, rubber, vinyl, leather and plastic. The stay-fresh container contains (2) grams and a one-drop tube applicator. Keep away from eyes, skin and kids.

We’ve looked at tape from both sides now, and no matter how we look at it, double-sided tape is better than ice cream castles in the air. Use it for carpet, rugs, signs, posters, photos, displays or whatever else needs staying in place. You pick: 324 feet x 0.70” wide of clear tape from Switzerland; 82 feet x 1” wide of beige tape with wax paper backing; or 164 feet x 1.89” wide of clear tape with wax paper backing.

This is America. We use masking tape. For painting, crafting, labeling and about a dozen other-ings we don’t even have to mention. A good masking tape roll like this one is as ubiquitous in American junk drawers as rubber bands, paper clips and pennies. This monster roll has a 3” core and is 3" wide x 60 yards long in the classic off-white we’ve come to expect masking tape to be. You’ll use it up, and you’ll be back for more.

You know, like the Mounties, those Canadian police folks with the red coats, big hats and black horses. Actually, this tape is for mounting objects in frames and on walls. Its double-sidedness allows you to stick one side to something and the other side to the spot you want the something to stay put. Use it in place of tacks, screws, nails and glue. You’ll get 15 feet of tape on a spool, 1” wide. Made in USA.

Mega-useful aluminum tape. A 2" wide x 50-yard roll of .004” thick aluminum on a 3” core. Has a paper backing and is conductive on the non-adhesive side. Reflects heat and light, useful for seaming riveted aluminum sheets, particularly good for cold weather and metal repairs. Our fisherman friends love to wrap wooden lures with it and work it with a piece of soft wood for metal-finish effects.

Need some good strong tape? This filament tape is so good it's also called “strapping tape.” You know something’s going to stay put with strapping tape strapped to it. We’ll send you a 1" wide roll that’s 60 yards long and you’ll probably call us for another few rolls when you’re done with that. If any Canadians are reading this, the tape is 24mm wide x 55m long, but it was made in the USA any way you measure it.

Stick to it with (2) 0.07 oz (4g total) tubes of cyanoacrylate super glue. Best on ceramics, glass, metal, rubber, leather, wood, many plastics and artificial nails (the one on your fingers, we assume). Tubes have applicator tips. You will get (2) packs of (2) tubes with each order. Say that ten times fast!

Might want to get some of this assorted cloth gaffers’ tape in red, yellow, brown, green, silver and possibly other shades because it leaves no residue and has a non-reflective matte finish, on account of theaters and movie stages don’t like either. Ours is 1-7/8” wide on 60-yard rolls with 3” cores. A favorite of theaters, campers, tinkerers, gardeners and others, we're sure you'll find about 974 uses, give or take.

Need to gaff? This is not technically gaffers’ tape because it has no cloth backing, but it has very similar adhesion and tearabilityness, so it’ll do for pretty much all your gaffing-like needs. Gray vinyl, 1-7/8" wide x .004" on a 50-yard roll. Just a good, solid, versatile roll of tape.

One promotion above 1st Lieutenant Polyimide? Nope-- tape material that makes duct tape hang its head in shame. Kapton polyimide is used in everything from flexible printed circuits, to the Apollo moon missions, to cryogenics. In this case, it’s a transparent golden-yellow 0.0025” thick adhesive tape on a 36-yard roll. Has a normal tensile strength of 30 lbs, insulates up to 7500V, and has a working temperature from -100F to 500F. High temp tolerance makes it perfect for masking during powder coating. You select the 1/2" or 1" wide. Made in the USA.
