Winner of this week's "What IS That?" award. It's a watch crab, also called a spanner wrench, that's designed to remove the back from watches, lenses from telescopes, and other thin, flat components from whatever they're attached to. Heavy for its size, it's 1" x 2-3/4" x 3/8" thick, with sharp 1/4" prongs projecting from the edge. The prongs move from 2" to 7/16" apart as you spin the knurled nut between them. An impressive tool to flash in front of your brother-in-law. If he doesn't read our catalog, he won't have a clue!

Hydroponic scissors. Yeah, a first for us, too, but these Titanium-bonded, non-stick, precision-ground scissors are corrosion- and adhesion-resistant, with soft, flexible handles. Short, 1-3/4” long blades, like bonsai folks use, except these are made for people who grow Boston bibb lettuce without dirt. Paul the buyer assures us, however, that these scissors won't know or care if you use them to open bags of nacho chips.

Riffler files are most prized by sculptors, wood carvers, model makers and similar fashioners of precision objects. They come in a variety of flat, round and triangular shapes. They are usually pointed and always have a delicate curve toward the point which makes them particularly useful for working in tight and curvy spots. They can cost as much as $4.00-$5.00 apiece in regular outlets.

These here selenite wands are quite the specimens. You know selenite? It’s a variety of gypsum, and it’s mighty purdy and crystal-ish. You’ll get a wand of it, somewhere in the 5” to 8” long range, and maybe about a 1/2” on each side. Add a Laser Pointer and have some naturally ocurring fiber optic fun! Whatever else you do with it (besides look at it up close in amazement), is up to you. But you’ll always be able to say, “Want to see my selenite wand?”

Our best and prettiest-ever slices of polished agate, showing concentric rings of natural and dyed colors. The slices range from 3" to 4-1/2" across and from 1/8" to 3/16" thick. We've seen samples from milky white to blue, purple, red, yellow and brown. No two alike, by definition. We'll choose.
