It's anybody's guess where these military-style rubberized, nylon medics' shoulder bags came from but they'd be handy for anyone with campers, or just stuff to put in a bag. Measure 8-1/2" long x 5" tall x 4-1/2" with a medic cross on the side and a hook-and-loop closure plus a toggle fastener. Shoulder strap extends from 38" to 59". Some look to have had a strap removed--this is new old stock--and all of them would be happy as fanny packs.

Originally a canteen pouch with two little mouse ear flaps that wrap around the top and snap closed, this insulated olive drab bag could double as a purse or a dog bone holder. Which technically would make it a pooch pouch. Measures 7-1/2" x 7" x 2-1/2". Snap straps on the back let you clip it to your pack or belt.

You’ll be needing a Yugoslavian military gas mask, and these are brand new, sealed in plastic with side filters and a “GARANTI LIST”. Plus they’re in a new leather-trimmed 11-1/4” x 6” square olive-drab canvas pouch with an adjustable shoulder strap. None of which means you should use it for a gas attack. As always, these are for display, or for looking like an alien or soldier at a costume party.

But no tent. Or shelter half, as they say in the army, although we don't know whose army these are from. You get a 3-section, 44" tent pole plus (3) steel stakes, all well used and all in an OD camo pouch. Your bivouac partner is supposed to have the other pole and pegs, so maybe he has your half of the pup tent, too.

Flip up the 2-1/2” brim on this soft, camo battle cap from the Italian military, and you’ll achieve something like a Beetle Bailey insouciance, with an Italian flavor. Call it sprezzatura. (Just go look it up, Sparky.) Sized M, but ours was a touch tight on a 7-3/8 capo, so think S/M. Has an elastic band in back, and little vents on the sides for you hotheads.

Get in touch with your inner Schweizer with an aluminum Swiss military canteen cup. Surplus, and yours might even have a genuine Swiss dent or two. In a perfect oblong, unlike the U.S. kidney shape, they hold 14 oz and measure 4" x 2-3/4” x approx 4” tall with a pair of 2-1/2” folding handles that work better than the U.S. cup handle. All in all, the Swiss seem to have been way ahead of us, canteen-cup-wise.

In a material like extra-thick trash-bag plastic, this is a late 1960s Swiss military Nuclear/Biological/Chemical protective poncho. Measures approx 50” long x 38” wide with snap closures in the front. We’re thinking it’d be handy for sudden rain storms but we’re a tad skeptical about its effectiveness in the case of nuclear rain. Best check with Switzerland before going out in the fallout.

Like the ones Johnny Carson wore? No, like the ones the Swiss military uses to handle Nuclear, Biological or Chemical stuff. NBC. These are new, still in the package, olive drab-ish, in a mysterious plastic-like material, 18-3/8” long x 7-1/2” wide, and are constructed like mittens with index fingers, the better to free up your trigger-finger, we assume. Our each is (3) pairs, complete with rubber loops to secure them to your forearms. When worn, they give you an (uncooked) lobster-like appearance, so costumers take a hint.

You’ll need a map case. From the pre-smartphone world, where military maps still live. These are 11" x 6-1/2" folded, and they open to a clear 16-1/2" x 20" window with a zippered top on one side and a 7" x 4-1/2" x 5/8" flapped pocket with (5) pen holders on it. Close with hook-n-loop fasteners and have a 42” long adjustable and removable shoulder strap. You pick olive digital camo or desert digital camo versions.

Nah, we don’t know either. It’s an olive drab canvas bag 30” x 29” in a vaguely torso/chubby clover shape, e.g. with approx 8” bump-outs at the the top and on two upper sides. Like a garment bag for a fancy dress uniform with a giant collar and big epaulets. (OK, we made that up, but still.) Has a double zipper over the top, canvas handle grips, and adjustable 40” straps so it can be worn like a backpack. (French vets are encouraged to call us and explain.)

These aluminum canteen cups are definitely from somebody’s army, we just don’t know whose. They hold 20 oz and measure 3-3/4” tall x 5-1/8” ID in a kidney shape with a pair of fold-out 3” x 2-3/8” handles on one side. Most of them have some rust-preventing grease on them, so a good cleaning before use is advisable, but when isn’t it?

Before there was olive drab canvas there was genuine leather military equipment, like these 4-slot German military magazine pouches. Measure 10-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 1-3/4" with a quartet of compartments at approx 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 8" deep with flip-down covers that fasten over brass studs. Has an angle-mounted 60” buckled strap with a 4" x 2-1/2" x 7/8" flapped pouch sliding on it. You’d need to roll your magazines pretty tight to fit in the slots, but they’d hold any number of Slim Jims.

Keep your powder dry and your canteen cold. Can’t help you with that powder thing, but this insulated camo canteen holder folds together and holds via hood-and-loop strips. Has a 5/8” ID grommet and a big hook-and-loop patch on the back to secure it. Measures approx 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 5" inside with room for adjusting.

US Navy Mk1 Mod5 gunsight reticle. In classic "ladder" pattern. Came to us in a lot of antique 1940's Eastman Kodak Military grade lenses and reticles. This unit was part of an illuminated cannon sight or gunsight. Might be a bit dusty or tarnished, but still looks pretty good for their age.
