Eschew Plastic Canteens
Drink like your grandfather did when he was in service to Uncle Sam, from this brand new aluminum canteen nested in a cup with folding handles, both inside a padded cotton olive drab cover (suitable for soaking to keep the water cold) with a pistol belt hook on the back. Canteen holds (1) quart, the cup about half that. Includes a black screw cap with a (non-GI) chain and carabiner.

Call it the biggest multitool on the planet. The entrenching tool of the future has a 5" x 3-3/4" folding shovel with a serrated edge plus 3/8" and 9/16" closed hex wrenches on one side and 4-1/4" serrated pick on the other, both held with a threaded clutch. The end of the 6-3/4" handle has a 6" hi/low/strobe superbright white LED flashlight with orange and white batons, powered by an included rechargeable lithium battery with a USB out. Whole shebang is 13-1/2" long, and it's got a pouch, too. Don't go into the apocalypse without it.

Beauteous Brass Sextant
Sextants came along after astrolabes but before GPS. (Just like you.) They're used for finding latitude and the distance between objects, and are still the non-electric, non-satellite-dependent backup for navigators. Ours is a beauty in solid brass with glass optical components, at a tiny price. Measures approx 4-5/8" x 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" overall and comes in a very nice wooden case. Includes instructions, which you're going to need unless you went to Annapolis where they still teach it. Handy for learning the principles of how a sextant works, but please don't try to find your way to Bora Bora with it, this one is more decorative than accurate.
$42.50 EACH
Like A Candle In The Woods
You will survive with this Survival Candle, a 3-wick burner made of soy and palm wax in a 3-1/8" dia 2-3/8" tin can with a lid. Rated to last up to 36 hours.
