Dominoes aren't just for those old guys with cigars in the park. These use Cuisenaire rods to help teach basic math concepts. You get (5) tiles, 1-5/8" x 2-1/4", for numbers 1 to 10 plus (10) transitional tiles that can be used with either set (1 to 5 or 6 to 10). Includes game rules and teacher's notes.
This clever 12-page book lets kids "Get the inside story" of bald eagles via a set of transparencies that show the subject in cross-section. A unique, and useful approach with plenty of facts and full-color illustrations.
But no tent. Or shelter half, as they say in the army, although we don't know whose army these are from. You get a 3-section, 44" tent pole plus (3) steel stakes, all well used and all in an OD camo pouch. Your bivouac partner is supposed to have the other pole and pegs, so maybe he has your half of the pup tent, too.
Easy to build Roswellish alien model kit. Will yield a 7-3/4" tall shiny white extraterrestrial on a 2" dia stand when done. He/She/It has extra-long arms, (4) fingers on each hand, an over-sized head and big black eyes that are sort of like sideways teardrops. You'll need glue and model paint in gray, black or silver, depending on what color you like on your aliens.
Actually, color these dinosaurs anything you like, because it's your paint. You'll also need your own glue, but otherwise you get all the parts you need to build small dino models. You pick: the Ankylosaurus will be approx 7" long x 2" tall, looking like a really angry turtle; the Velociraptor, of movie fame, will be approx 15" long x 7" tall on a 3-1/2" base and with a demented look on its face; the pudgy T-Rex is 7" long x 5" tall and is under attack by a ridiculously overscale and a hundred million years early caveman.
Put a little mood indigo in your ride with these dual blue LEDs. On 3/8" dia swiveling, self-adhesive mounts, each set of (2) lights connect via 5-foot fused leads to your cigarette plug. In silver plastic, you pick the 1" long, cocktail-shaker-shaped set with the LED shining out the end like a spotlight, or the 2-1/2" long bullet-shaped set where the LED is diffused by a lens for area illumination. Draws under 10mA, so your battery is safe.
This pink snake is 17" long x 2" dia cotton-lycra, filled with tiny plastic beads, and it lives to adjust itself to support your wrist while your boss makes you sit there and type for hours and hours and hours until you could get, like, carpal tunnel. Think of it as a bean bag for your wrists.
Nice set of (10) sketching pencils from Reeves, 7" long, running the hardness scale, (1) each at 4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B and 4B. We like the 2B for our crossword puzzles and the included sharpener means broken tips are no longer an excuse to not finish them.
