Our all-time favorite color for bottles is cobalt blue, like milk of magnesia jars. These are 250mL (8.5oz) glass, 4-3/4" tall x 2-1/2" dia with a 1-1/4" ID mouth, shut with a white plastic gasketed cap. (The original title of the Milk of Magnesia Blues was Shut My Mouth with a Gasketed Cap.)
Here's a lotion dispenser with the best of intentions. Easily fillable with whatever lotion or liquid you choose, this empty 30ml frosted-glass bottle stands 4" tall overall x 1-9/16" dia and has a sloping nozzle and a delicate "Body & Soul" logo in script. Ideally, the nozzle is protected from accidental dispensing by the separate slide-off cap, but you may have to line it with a layer of clear tape or nail polish to make it tight enough to trust it in your purse.
You pick from our clear glass vial collection, all with gasketed
black-plastic screw caps. The small vials hold approx 2ml and measure
1-3/8” tall x 9/16” dia with a 9/32 (approx 7mm) ID. The larger vials
hold approx 5ml and measure 2-1/4” tall x 19/32” dia with an 11/32”
CJ called this clear glass jar "an interesting shape," but the folks old enough to remember ink think it's just like the bottles we used to stick our fountain pens into. Has a rounded front and flattened, angular back sides, sort of diamond-shaped, and holds 7 oz. Measures 3" tall x 4-1/4" wide x 2-1/2" at the center. Includes an edge-gasketed 2-1/4" ID screw cap.
Because it is glass. And clear. These jars hold 8 oz and measure 4-3/4" tall x 2-5/16" dia with a 1-13/16" ID mouth and a screw cap with a safety-button, like the kind that pop up on pickle jars. Sides are slightly faceted, not unlike the sugar dispensers in myriad diners.
In clear glass, these 10-ozers are the classic seafood sauce bottle shape, 7-3/4" tall x 2-5/16" dia at the slightly flared bottom and approx the same at the also-slightly-flared shoulder. Clearly they were destined to hold sauce but we got ’em first, and we think they’d be great holding decorative sand, craft supplies, paper clips, stamps, loose change or anything else that accumulates willy-nilly in the junk drawer. The mouth is 1-1/6” ID and it’s closed with a gasketed black metal screw cap.
These blue glass dropper bottles are the color of the cold cream bottles that everybody's mother used when everybody's mother used cold cream. Measure 3-1/8" tall x 1-15/16" dia and hold (1) oz. Plastic safety dropper cap is 2-3/8" tall and marked at 0.4 and 0.8ml.
"Very interesting," our chief bottle washer said. This 3-1/16" tall x 1-7/16" dia corked glass bottle has a cream-colored rubber coating on the outside and a 15/32" ID mouth, with a little lip like an old-time baby bottle. The coating may make the bottle less likely to break if you drop it, It will certainly make it less likely to scatter shards of glass all over the floor! Holds approx 30ml (1 oz). Now with corks included and perfect for writing special messages on.
