Vintage Weather

Put a touch of Mid-Century Modern on your wall with our 1960's-ish German-made Lachman & Sons weather instruments. Both are 6-1/4" dia, in understated brass and silver with black and gold numbers, glass faces and design elements. Mounting hardware included. You pick: the Thermometer, with a key for calibration and a second dial that’s set by hand to mark a specific temperature; or the Hydrometer, (no key but calibration through the back) with guides that indicate “Too Dry,” “Satisfactory” and Too Damp” conditions. The vintage cardboard boxes they come in are also very cool.

Jarvis Says: A little note about these beauties below from the original owner. These pieces were custom designed by my father. He traveled to Germany shortly after WWII in the early 1950s and developed a business relationship with a company called MOCO in Hamburg, Germany. They produced high quality weather instruments of all kinds. They are now out of business but they imported these pieces from them up until the 1960s when they were primarily selling business gifts and shipping them all over the country.

Jarvis Says Part 2: Please allow both devices 24 hours to adjust out of the packaging before attempting calibration. Use the included key for the thermometer and use a small paper clip for the hygrometer.
